The MCU Engineering team plays a critical role in delivering the scalable platform capabilities that power H1's products. Our engineers build the services, APIs, event-driven systems, and user experiences that transform complex healthcare data into fast, reliable, and intuitive products used by life sciences organizations around the world. Working across modern cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, and AI-enabled technologies, this team solves challenging technical problems at scale while partnering closely with Product, Design, and Data Engineering to continually improve the performance, reliability, and capabilities of our platform.
As a Senior Software Engineer on our MCU team, you will own the delivery of complex product capabilities from technical design through production deployment with minimal guidance. You'll partner closely with Product, Design, and fellow Engineers to build scalable, high-performing applications that power H1's platform while helping shape technical direction across the team. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys working across the full stack, making architectural decisions, solving distributed systems challenges, and taking ownership of the quality and reliability of the software they build.

LOCATION & WORKING HOURS
- This role is open to candidates located in IndiaSkills Required
- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience building scalable, production-grade applications
- Experience troubleshooting Kafka-based event-driven systems, including producers, consumers, consumer groups, replay strategies, and failure recovery
- Experience designing and developing APIs, distributed microservices, and event-driven systems using Kafka
- Experience in full-stack development using TypeScript and Node.js, with a track record of delivering customer-facing products end-to-end
- Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, including database design, query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning for high-volume applications
- Experience building and operating cloud-native applications using Kubernetes, AWS, and modern CI/CD practices
- Experience implementing and optimizing search functionality using Elasticsearch
- Strong understanding of software architecture, distributed systems, scalability, and performance optimization
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to independently own complex technical initiatives
- Experience working with Python, PySpark, or similar technologies to support data processing workflows
- Experience working with Golang
- Experience building AI-powered applications or integrating LLM APIs, familiarity with RAG architectures, or modern AI frameworks such as LangChain or Vercel AI SDK
