About the Role
We are actively looking for a Senior Software Engineer with experience working with Auth Systems, Security & Google Cloud Platform, to join our team. Five9 delivers market-leading up-time for its Contact Center application while constantly delivering new features and capabilities to highly demanding enterprise customers. This requires that Five9 continually enhances, updates and modernizes the Platform Services that the Contact Center Application runs on. This position requires excellent understanding of cloud software: how it's built, deployed, tested and managed.
Key ResponsibilitiesContribute to the next generation of Five9’s modern SaaS platform enabling AI-driven customer engagement.
Design and develop highly available, scalable, and reliable microservices infrastructure.
Build and enhance Identity & Access Management (IAM) systems supporting OAuth, security tokens, SSO, federation, and customer/partner identities.
Apply cloud and open-source technologies to solve complex platform challenges.
Gain deep understanding of existing systems and contribute to architectural improvements.
Troubleshoot production issues and provide operational support across the software stack.
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and drive technical excellence.
Strong expertise in Java, APIs, Spring Security, and Web Authentication.
Hands-on experience with SSO, SAML, OAuth, Federation, IDP, and CI/CD for identity platforms.
Experience managing Ping Identity (architecture, configuration, and operations).
Ownership of production uptime, reliability, SLAs/SLOs, and incident response.
Participation in 24/7 on-call rotation for identity-related systems.
Experience in performance tuning microservices and database queries.
Familiarity with distributed databases such as CockroachDB or Cassandra.
Experience with cloud platforms (GCP preferred).
Experience with Okta IAM.
Exposure to large-scale SaaS environments and platform modernization initiatives.
