The Enterprise Data Platform team is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with experience in building data platforms on cloud data warehouses. You will collaborate closely with privacy and security teams to enhance data security and privacy within Snowflake. In this role, you will also provide guidance to Data Analysts and Data Engineers across Pinterest's business teams on best practices for data management and insight generation using Snowflake. Over time, you will become the Subject Matter Expert on Snowflake and contribute to the development of Pinterest’s Modern Data Stack.
What you'll do:
- Develop Python scripts to enforce privacy and security protocols within Snowflake
- Create Airflow operators in Python to handle data ingestion and transformations in Snowflake
- Establish and promote best practices for data storage and analysis within Snowflake
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert and champion the Enterprise Data Platform
What we're looking for:
- Proficiency in Python and SQL
- Experience in developing scripts with Python for data warehouse management
- Background in constructing data pipelines using Python
- Expertise in addressing privacy and security needs of a cloud data warehouse
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related field or equivalent experience
