This can be remote within the United States or the position can be hybrid in our American Fork, UT office (typically Tuesdays and Thursdays).
Job Summary
You will be part of a talented team of software engineers who strive to provide a best-in-class solution for our dental customers. This position is responsible for performing advanced full stack programming tasks for the maintenance and enhancement of our Dentrix Practice Management System. You will be seen as a technical leader on the team.
What You Will Do
- Development of enhancements and eliminate bugs in the Dentrix Software
- Participate in Agile/Scrum meetings
- Mentor more junior engineers
- Solve complex problems using knowledge, passion, and curiosity
- Craft code that reflects an expert understanding of object-oriented design, refactoring, clean code, clean architecture and solid engineering principles
- Follow the Test-Driven Development (TDD) paradigm when possible and mentor others in its use
Travel/Physical Demands
- Travel typically less than 10%
- Office environment with no special physical demands required

- Languages & Frameworks: C# and .NET 4.7 AND C++ (working knowledge)
- Frontend: WinForms, WPF, WinUI and Win32API
- Databases: MS SQL Server
- DevOps & Tools: GitLab with CI/CD pipelines, Jira
- Client Server Architecture
- Windows Desktop Application
Qualifications
What You Will Have
- 5+ years of experience building backend software utilizing our technology stack
- Working knowledge of C++
- Understanding of domain driven design
- Experience with unit testing a must
- Experience working in an agile environment (Jira a plus)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Enjoys sharing ideas with and learning from other team members
Nice to Haves
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Prior experience as a team lead or technical lead
The posted range for this position is $100,000 - $135,000 which is the expected starting base salary range for an employee who is new to the role to fully proficient in the role. Many factors go into determining employee pay within the posted range including prior experience, current skills, location/labor market, internal equity, etc. This position is eligible for a bonus target not reflected in the range.
