Job Description

Design and Development:

Sensor Selection and Specification:

Identify and specify appropriate sensors (e.g., temperature, pressure, proximity, Barcode, optical) for various applications, ensuring compatibility with environmental conditions and operational requirements.

Evaluate sensor specifications and performance metrics to select optimal sensors for specific use cases.

Circuit Design and Integration:

Design and develop electronic circuits for sensor signal conditioning, amplification, and filtering.

Integrate sensors with microcontrollers, embedded systems, PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and DCS (Distributed Control System) for real-time data acquisition and control.

Prototyping and Simulation:

Develop prototypes of sensor systems using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software and simulation tools.

Conduct simulations to predict sensor behaviour under different conditions and optimize design parameters.

Develop and implement calibration procedures to ensure sensor accuracy and reliability

Validate sensor performance through rigorous testing, including environmental and stress testing.

Data Acquisition Systems:

Design and implement data acquisition systems, including analog-to-digital conversion, data logging, and communication interfaces (e.g., I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, API).

Configure and manage data acquisition hardware and software for efficient data collection.

Signal Processing and Filtering:

Develop algorithms for signal processing, including noise reduction, filtering, and feature extraction.

Implement digital signal processing techniques to enhance data quality and reliability.

Data Analysis and Algorithm Development:

Data Interpretation:

Analyze sensor data to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies, providing actionable insights for process optimization.

Develop predictive models and algorithms to interpret sensor outputs and anticipate equipment failures or maintenance needs.

Machine Learning and AI Integration:

Implement machine learning algorithms for advanced data analysis and pattern recognition.

Integrate AI-based solutions for predictive maintenance, anomaly detection, and process automation.

Stay updated with the latest advancements in sensor technology, IoT (Internet of Things), and Industry 4.0.

Research to explore new sensor applications and innovative solutions for complex problems.

Continuous Improvement:

Propose and implement enhancements to existing sensor systems to improve accuracy, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sensor technology into broader digitalization initiatives.

Technical Documentation:

Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, calibration procedures, and user manuals.

Maintain detailed records of sensor configurations, calibration data, and test results.

Reporting and Communication:

Provide regular reports and presentations on project progress, sensor performance, and data insights to stakeholders.

Communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to non-technical team members and management.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or master's degree in electrical engineering, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, or a related field. A PhD is a plus.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in sensor design, development, and implementation.

Proven experience in the cement industry, airport operations, or material handling systems is highly desirable.
