Job Description -
The Group: The IWPT Data Platform team at Morningstar is seeking a skilled Software Engineer to develop and maintain our Datafeed applications built using Node.js and ASP.NET. These applications are crucial for delivering timely and accurate data to our clients, ensuring the smooth operation of their financial systems.
The Role: As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for the development, reliability, and performance of our Datafeed applications. You will work closely with our clients and internal teams to enhance the functionality, troubleshoot issues, and ensure the continuous improvement of our applications.
Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain Datafeed applications using Node.js and ASP.NET.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Datafeed processing, data accuracy, and application functionality.
  • Implement enhancements to improve the reliability, performance, and usability of our applications.
  • Document development processes, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions to ensure knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.


Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Node.js and ASP.NET for developing and maintaining Datafeed applications.
  • Strong understanding of application development and architecture.
  • Knowledge of data processing and data manipulation techniques.
  • Familiarity with relational and non-relational databases and queries.
  • Experience with troubleshooting and debugging techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in software development or a related field.
  • Experience developing and supporting Datafeed applications or similar financial systems is a plus.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
  • Knowledge of financial markets and Datafeeds.
  • Experience with DevOps practices and tools.
