Sr. Sales Manager, Recreational Lines

LOCATION:

Candidates must reside near a major airport, preferably in Texas or Florida, and will include overnight travel countrywide

Summary

We are seeking a Senior Sales Manager, Recreational Lines, to lead sales distribution of GEICO’s recreational products (i.e. motorcycle, boat, RV) through the independent agency channel.   Under general direction, responsible for both growing revenue with independent agents that specialize in recreational lines as well as executing on the roadmap for product expansion and gaining agency preference. Responsibilities include management of a subset of rec lines specialist agencies, training and coaching our Agency Operations Managers and Business Developers, and meeting performance goals. Additional responsibilities can vary including support of our national accounts, project work, and product enhancements. This is a highly visible role that requires collaboration with senior leadership to influence and impact results both within the territory and countrywide.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prospects, interview, and approve new appointments to expand GEICO’s agency distribution.

  • Manage a small subset of specialist agencies using in person, virtual, phone, and email to build relationships, deliver training, and manage agency performance. Collaborate with leadership to Implement policies and procedures to maximize recreational lines agency preference.

  • Coach and mentor Agency Operations Managers and Business Developers to enhance their product knowledge and gain preference with independent agents.

  • Partner with Recreational Lines Product team (RV, Motorcycle and Boat) to develop and execute the recreational lines roadmap and identify new areas of opportunity. Gain competitor intelligence and share organizationally on how we can improve our industry position.

  • Document the best process to prospect, qualify and onboard new recreational lines agencies to expand Company’s agency distribution footprint.

  • Documents the best processes to train principals, agents, and representatives to optimize their understanding and preference toward company products and processes, providing feedback on competitive comparisons to product and the strategy team, as available.

  • Monitors agent performance to action plans, identifies and documents needed actions and takes them as needed to help our partners (employees and agents) grow their business.

  • Create and deliver quarterly sales plans, regular updates and reporting to leadership to support strategic reporting.

  • Interact with critical state and industry association groups to determine growth efforts in new and existing states.

  • Collaborate in the development of onboarding, training, and development (includes mentoring) plans of new sales processes.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prior experience driving sales results

  • Prior experience working with different lines of insurance a plus (P&C, Commercial)

  • Compliance with GEICO’s driving standards and/or policy

  • Adheres to the GEICO Code of Conduct, company policies and operating principles

  • Meets attendance standard at business location to perform necessary job functions and to facilitate interaction with subordinates and management

  • Valid driver’s license and auto insurance

PREFERRED:

  • Experience in Recreational Lines

  • Experience with Independent Agencies

Annual Salary

$115,825.00 - $181,425.00

The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
