Job Responsibilities
- Act as the regional center of excellence for Maintenance & Engineering, supporting manufacturing sites across Asia Pacific in achieving safe, reliable, efficient, and compliant operations.
- Lead the transition from reactive maintenance toward predictive and reliability-centered maintenance strategies through standardized processes, digitalization, advanced inspection technologies, and data-driven decision-making.
- Develop and maintain strong internal networks with regional Maintenance, Engineering, Operations, and EHS teams, while collaborating with external technology providers, OEMs, inspection specialists, and service partners to benchmark and deploy MI best practices across the Asia Pacific region.
- Drive continuous improvement of MI programs to proactively adapt to evolving technologies, improve safety performance, reduce environmental impact, increase reliability, and optimize lifecycle costs.
- Acts as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for MI and Recognized and Generally Accepted Good Engineering Practices (RAGAGEP), supporting the implementation, auditing, and enhancement of inspection, maintenance, and reliability programs at critical manufacturing sites throughout the region.
- Lead reliability engineering and asset improvement initiatives focused on reducing downtime, eliminating repetitive failures, improving process safety, enhancing equipment performance, reducing maintenance costs, and extending asset life.
- Provide technical guidance on Root Cause Analysis (RCA), bad actor management, failure elimination strategies, and reliability improvement plans for critical assets and infrastructure.
- Drive digital transformation initiatives within Maintenance & Engineering across Asia Pacific by implementing digital asset management systems, predictive analytics, AI-based reliability tools, smart sensors, IIoT platforms, condition monitoring technologies, and data visualization systems to improve asset visibility, predict failures, reduce unplanned shutdowns, and optimize maintenance interventions. Promotes integration between IT and OT systems to standardize asset data, KPI reporting, inspection workflows, and reliability metrics across the region.
- Lead and manage large regional and multi-site reliability and mechanical integrity improvement projects involving multidisciplinary teams, capital investments, asset criticality assessments, energy optimization, and risk-based inspection methodologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Process, Electrical, Reliability, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent technical discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of professional experience in Maintenance, Reliability, Mechanical Integrity, Engineering, or Manufacturing Operations, including operational leadership roles such as Plant Engineer, Maintenance Manager, Reliability Engineer, or Engineering Manager.
- Strong knowledge of Mechanical Integrity programs, RAGAGEP, reliability engineering methodologies, predictive maintenance technologies, and asset management systems.
- Experience with CMMS/EAM platforms, digital maintenance systems, data analytics, and industrial digitalization initiatives.
- Knowledge of inspection methodologies including RBI, NDT, vibration analysis, thermography, lubrication management, and condition monitoring technologies.
- Proven project and program management experience in international and multi-site manufacturing environments.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and influencing skills.
- Ability to work effectively across Operations, EHS, Sustainability, IT, and Engineering functions within multicultural environments.
- Fluency in English (written and verbal) and strong international mindset.
- Availability to travel regionally across Asia Pacific and internationally, as required. Estimated travel is up to 35% of time.
- Located in the Asia Pacific Region at a PPG Facility.
