Job Description

We are currently seeking a Sr. Quality Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will review product expectations and identify appropriate safety, reliability and durability testing as part of a comprehensive product test plan. The position also involves coaching and training our RD&D team on relevant testing standards to ensure alignment between product design and product performance requirements. Applicants should possess strong conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate also has excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain testing requirements and results to a broad and diverse audience.

A day on the job looks like this:

  • Owning and developing product test plans (plastics/toys/soft goods)
  • Reviewing product expectations and identifying appropriate safety, reliability and durability testing as part of a comprehensive product test plan
  • Creating and maintaining a library of test methods/protocols to ensure consistency and repeatability across in-house testing and third-party lab testing
  • Presenting product test plans and test results to RD&D and Supply Chain to support informed product decisions
  • Analyzing test results to evaluate product performance against defined requirements
  • Identifying applicable industry standards for raw material and finished product testing
  • Collaborating with the in-house lab manager to determine required testing capabilities
  • Coaching and training RD&D on relevant testing standards to align product design with performance goals
  • Participating in failure analysis and supporting baseline testing for product improvement projects
  • Leading and/or supporting root cause analysis for customer service inquiries
  • Collaborating with Product Integrity and Compliance teams

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science or English, or quality management experience
  • 5+ years of product engineering experience
  • 3+ years of experience implementing quality engineering processes
  • Ability to present technical data to diverse audiences at various levels
  • Experience working with global teams
  • Proven ability to develop customized testing protocols as needed
  • Strong conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate complex testing requirements and results clearly and effectively
  • Proven work experience in quality, engineering and testing standards
  • Deep understanding of manufacturing processes
  • Extensive knowledge of raw material processing and handling in global manufacturing environments
  • Expertise in ASTM and other standard testing methods, with the ability to identify appropriate standards for each application
  • Experience working with third-party testing labs
  • Expert knowledge of regulatory requirements related to furniture
  • Comfortable working with systems and performing data analysis
  • Proficiency in MS Office, with strong skills in building and presenting reports
  • Experience communicating through remote channels, such as video conferencing, email and text

At Lakeshore, we pay local market wages for employees that reside within Los Angeles and Orange Counties.

For this position, new employees joining Lakeshore who live within Los Angeles and Orange Counties are typically brought into the organization at a salary rate between $98,000 - $137,500 depending on relevant experience & skillset.

This range is indicative of projected hiring range. The annual base compensation will take into account each candidate's relevant experience, location, and skillset.
