Duties & Responsibilities
- Serve as key leadership liaison to vendor QA team and manage the integration activities between UMB and vendor partner.
- Leads and delegates projects and project work to QA Analysts internally and on vendor QA teams.
- Assure key stakeholders are identified across the organization for assigned projects to facilitate appropriate interaction with QA vendor partner
- Ensure that key issues and dependencies have ETA's from owning organizations and clarify owners for dependency items that need to be planned and closed
- Work with vendor partner to assure resource utilization is understood and managed
- Understand status of testing activities and assist in the communication of status
- Participate in roadmap planning and achievement
- Foster support for the hybrid UMB/vendor staffed QA organization and support key improvement initiatives across UMB.
- Define test objectives and provide oversight to creation of detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases, scenarios, scripts, for functional, system, regression, and UAT tests.
- Analyze and provide input into the need for Load and Performance testing as well as Automated testing to stated requirements and company standards
- Collaborate with project managers and development teams to determine the scope of the testing effort and testing resource requirement resulting in plans, schedules and implementation of small to large scale testing projects
- Review project estimates based on corporate guidelines and Quality Assurance methodologies
- Work in a team environment with all stakeholders to ensure the timely delivery of quality products into production
- Actively participate in project team meetings and/or SCRUM meetings to provide feedback on testing progress.
- Review software documentation to ensure technical accuracy and compliance to mitigate risks
- Work closely with Development Architects to analyze design documents based on requirements and test criteria to ensure product designs are good
- Participate in product design reviews, providing input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems
- Balance the need for thoroughness in any one area with the need to cover many areas in a short time
- Provide oversight and help with documentation work and follow UMB corporate, and work center policies.
- Lead the defect management effort, ensuring defects are logged and captured timely and accurately as well as leading defect review meetings with development/vendor teams
- Responsible for improving the quality of all software products through the development of testing standards, processes, test tools, test scripts, and test automation that will produce robust and reliable software in a timely manner
- Provides input to and helps define Develops quality assurance standards

- Knowledge with the majority of the following technologies: HTTP, Java, .NET, WebSphere, IIS, SQL, Oracle, XML, Web Services, VB, C#, COBOL, and JCL
- Experience with advanced testing software on multiple platforms including Windows, Solaris, Linux, and through various Proxy server and Firewall configurations
PREFERRED:
- Knowledge of automation software testing tools, preferably UFT
- Demonstrates advanced knowledge of SmartBear or comparable testing products
- Thorough User Level Knowledge of TFS
- Demonstrates advanced ability to performing testing: functional, regression, System, UAT, performance, data creation, mining and manipulation of large complex business applications and system software
- Demonstrates advanced ability to identify problems, create solutions, and guide change
- Ability to identify problems, create solutions and guide change
Requirements
MINIMUM:
- Eight (8) years of IT experience in QA and software application testing and test management
- 1-3 years’ experience in leading QA activities and directly or indirectly overseeing QA staff and contract resources
- Applicable certifications and/or professional training
- A working knowledge of quality assurance methodologies
- Banking or financial services organization
PREFERRED:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or a relevant field of work or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Certification in Software Quality Assurance or Software Testing
- Some computer programming or SQL experience
- Experience working in an Agile/SCRUM environment

Compensation Range:
Minimum: $83,200.00 - Maximum: $214,560.00
