Job Description
This role requires working from our local Hyderabad office 2-3x a week.
INTRODUCTION:
We are seeking a Senior QA Engineer to join our agile API product delivery team. At ABC Fitness, we believe that quality is the whole team's responsibility, and each product delivery team owns the health of their end-to-end test automation and pipelines. As the Sr. QA Engineer, you’ll have a strong balance of manual testing expertise and automation skills to establish effective quality practices and build reliable feedback mechanisms.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Lead and evolve the team's test approach, championing quality as a shared responsibility
- Establish and facilitate quality-focused team practices while working closely with development teams to validate features and deliver them to production
- Contribute to technical discussions and decisions that impact product quality and testability
- Design, implement, and maintain manual and automated test suites that provide fast, reliable feedback
- Conduct exploratory testing to uncover unexpected risks and edge cases
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- 5+ years of experience in software testing or quality assurance roles
- Proven understanding of SDLC principles and methodologies, including agile
- Demonstrated ability to apply different testing techniques, tools, and approaches based on context
- Strong understanding of REST principles and hands-on experience testing APIs with various tools
- Experience testing complex distributed systems and identifying critical edge cases
- Strong expertise in exploratory testing methodologies
- Working knowledge of test automation frameworks and practices
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and team collaboration abilities
AND IT’S GREAT TO HAVE:
- Experience establishing and managing effective whole-team test approaches
- Experience with troubleshooting and testing in production environments
- Knowledge of reliability engineering principles
- Background in quality engineering practices
- Knowledge of application security, authentication, authorization, penetration testing, and compliance
- Familiarity with performance testing tools and concepts
- Experience with continuous delivery pipelines
- Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright)
- Understanding of CI/CD concepts and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions)
