Why this role matters
Technology change gets hard when multiple systems, teams, and dependencies need to move together. Even well-defined initiatives can quickly become complex as risks, constraints, and competing priorities emerge.
As a Junior Project Manager, this role exists to bring focus, structure, and disciplined execution to assigned World Courier initiatives, while building delivery capability.
You'll be accountable for delivering three to four, small to medium initiatives, business-requested enhancements, and IT backlog items, ensuring they land on time, on budget, and with the intended outcomes.
What you'll do
Delivering successful outcomes
- Responsible for delivery across time, cost, scope, and quality for assigned initiatives.
- Own and maintain delivery plans, milestones, and forecasts.
- Ensure appropriate planning for development, testing, and release.
- In collaboration with the VMO, ensure adoption plan can successfully support technology.
- Provide clear status reporting to leadership and stakeholders.
- Managing scope, dependencies, risks, and finances
- Actively manage scope, dependencies, and cross-team impacts.
- Identify and mitigate risks and issues early.
- Surface delivery trade-offs clearly to support decision-making.
- Manage initiative-level budgets and forecasts.
- Working in alignment with portfolio delivery
- Deliver initiatives in line with portfolio standards and governance.
- Collaborate with the VMO and delivery community.
- Support dependency management across the broader portfolio.
- Contribute to accurate resource planning and capacity management.
- Collect and maintain resource demand and capacity data from IT stakeholders and managers to support resource forecasting.
- Support delivery of business-requested enhancements and approved IT backlog items.
- Support Agile and hybrid delivery approaches where appropriate.

Experience that will help you succeed
- 2+ years delivering technology initiatives.
- Familiarity with delivery and reporting tools such as ServiceNow, Smartsheet, Azure DevOps (ADO), or JIRA.Project Management certification or successful completion of a recognized project management curriculum.
- Experience in risk and issue management.
- Experience guiding delivery teams through project estimation and delivery timelines, and maintaining those estimates as conditions change..
- Experience managing small to medium initiatives, enhancements, or defined workstreams.
- Experience in dependency management, testing coordination, and release planning.

Skills Required
- 5+ years delivering complex technology initiatives end-to-end
- Project Management certification or completion of a recognized PM curriculum
- Strong capability in risk and issue management
- Proven experience in estimation and forecasting
- Ability to adjust plans based on constraints and dependencies
- Experience managing large initiatives alongside medium/smaller projects
- Solid understanding of dependency management and release planning
- Experience influencing global stakeholders without direct authority
- Familiarity with tools such as ServiceNow, Smartsheet, Azure DevOps, and/or JIRA
