Why this role matters
Technology changes get hard when multiple systems, teams, and dependencies need to move together. Even well-defined initiatives can quickly become complex as risks, constraints, and competing priorities emerge.
As a Principal Project Manager, you will bring focus, structure, and disciplined execution to that complexity.
You'll be accountable for delivering one large, complex initiative and one to two additional medium or smaller initiatives, ensuring they land on time, on budget, and with the intended outcomes.
Key responsibilities:
- Owns end-to-end delivery of the most complex, cross-functional technical programs, setting program structure, interdependency frameworks, and execution accountability across engineering and technology workstreams.
- Defines technical program management standards, delivery playbooks, and governance frameworks adopted across the program management organization.
- Drives scope, resource, and investment trade-off decisions that protect enterprise delivery commitments while managing ambiguity and resolving systemic blockers.
- Aligns executive stakeholders and cross-functional leaders on program strategy, risk posture, and delivery direction through structured reporting and authoritative recommendations.
- Identifies systemic execution risks and delivery gaps, implementing durable improvements to program processes and operating mechanisms that strengthen delivery predictability.
Qualifications and Experience required:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, software engineering, business information technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience required.
- 8+ years of experience technical product management, technical project management, business systems analysis, application delivery, or related field required.
- Certifications preferred:
- PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent Agile/Scrum certification
- ITIL, SAFe, or other service/delivery framework certification
- Strong understanding of business principles, process modeling, and the full software development lifecycle.
- Applies structured analytical and problem-solving skills to navigate complex, cross-functional technical delivery challenges.
- Communicates and presents clearly across technical and non-technical audiences; builds trusted relationships with clients, engineering, business, and executive stakeholders.
- Presents strategies, plans, and technical information in a clear and actionable manner.
- Manages multiple concurrent initiatives with strong organizational discipline and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiar with enterprise application environments, platform architecture, and web/e-commerce ecosystems - with the ability to apply that knowledge to support scalable, cost-effective solutions.
