The Senior Asset Owner plays a pivotal role in the design, deployment, and adoption of end-to-end analytical solutions that support strategic initiatives in Product Management. This role is embedded within the Personal Insurance Home and Auto Class Plan modeling team, where the focus is on delivering business outcomes related to product segmentation by aligning people, processes, and data assets.
 

Key Responsibilities:

Driving Adoption & Communication

  • Lead the execution of marketing and communication strategies to promote the Data Science portfolio.
  • Craft compelling narratives around analytical results, including business impact analyses and leadership presentations.
  • Translate complex data science and engineering outputs into clear, actionable insights for business partners.

Stakeholder Engagement & Influence

  • Build strong partnerships with cross-functional stakeholders at all levels to ensure alignment and drive solution adoption.
  • Act as a liaison between technical teams and business units, ensuring solutions address real business problems and deliver expected value.

Project Execution & Tactical Support

  • Provide hands-on support to Data Science and Engineering teams by managing project roadmaps, execution timelines, and stakeholder updates.
  • Identify gaps and opportunities in current processes and champion innovative, data-driven solutions to enhance efficiency and mitigate risk.

Change Management & Continuous Improvement

  • Support the development and implementation of critical operating routines and agile practices.
  • Bring an entrepreneurial mindset to identify improvement opportunities and facilitate cross-functional collaboration to build and scale solutions.

This role will have a Hybrid work schedule, with the expectation of working in an office (Columbus, OH, Chicago, IL, Hartford, CT or Charlotte, NC) 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in supporting analytic or machine learning product ownership or technical development in insurance or related field
  • Advanced domain knowledge in insurance product, rating algorithms, and KPIs
  • Skilled at translating complex technical topics into business strategies and converting business needs into technical solutions
  • Proficiency in impactful storytelling, communication, and relationship-building across a broad range of technical and non-technical audiences
  • Understands the integration of analytic and data science solutions into business strategy
  • Experience with leading project execution and driving change to core business processes through the innovative use of quantitative techniques
  • Intermediate understanding of statistics, the analytical project lifecycle, data science concepts, data transformation and data warehouse concepts (Familiarity with insurance loss models is a plus)
  • Ability to quickly gain business-side domain knowledge, including understanding of general process and key initiatives
  • Agile and Product Owner experience is a plus

Candidate must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship. The company will not support the STEM OPT I-983 Training Plan endorsement for this position.

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$109,520 - $164,280
