Role Description
As a Sr. Product Marketing Manager - Developer Audiences, your primary responsibility will be to develop and implement a go-to-market strategy aimed at attracting and engaging developer audiences for Jira. In this role you will lead a small team where your deep understanding of developer needs will enable you to guide your team to craft compelling messaging, produce engaging content, and deliver comprehensive marketing campaigns that speak directly to the developer audience. Not only will you be a key driver of content & campaigns behind the scenes, but you and your team will also actively engage with customers, playing a pivotal role in conducting product demos as well as representing Jira at developer conferences and events, ensuring it remains the top choice for project management in the developer community.

  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of product marketers, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
  • Go-to-Market Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive go-to-market strategy aimed at acquiring and engaging the developer audience for Jira. This includes identifying key market opportunities, defining target segments, and creating tailored marketing initiatives to drive adoption and growth within the developer community.
  • Messaging and Positioning: Develop and refine messaging that clearly communicates the value of Jira to a developer audience. Ensure that this messaging is consistent across all marketing channels.
  • Content Development: Drive effective content development including videos, blog posts, whitepapers, customer case studies, sales enablement and more that drive the adoption of Jira among developers. Tailor content to address the specific pain points and needs of the developer community.
  • Campaign Management: Design, execute, and optimize multi-channel marketing campaigns to drive product awareness and adoption. Utilize data-driven strategies to measure campaign performance and adjust tactics as needed.
  • Market Research: Continuously monitor the market, competitors, and customer feedback to identify trends and opportunities. Use insights to inform marketing strategies and product development.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including product management, sales, design, and engineering to align marketing efforts with product roadmaps and business goals.
  • Customer Advocacy: Develop and maintain relationships with key customers and community influencers. Leverage these relationships to create compelling customer stories and testimonials.


  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years in product marketing (2+ years in a management role), with a strong focus on developer-centric products and audiences.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of software development processes and tools.
  • Communication Skills: Strong storyteller with exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to craft compelling narratives for technical audiences.
  • Content Development: Proven track record of creating technical content that drives engagement and adoption.
  • Market Analysis: Experience with competitive analysis and market research in the DevOps and project management space.
  • Influence: Cross-functional aptitude with the ability to build relationships with senior stakeholders across from Sales, Marketing, and Product to deliver on a shared vision and goals


Compensation
At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation programs. To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:
Zone A: $150,700 - $200,900
Zone B: $135,600 - $180,800
Zone C: $125,000 - $166,700
This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.
