Role Summary:
We are seeking a senior level Product Market Manager to provide ownership of Picarro’s products for atmospheric monitoring including greenhouse gas networks, VOC’s (volatile organic compounds), photo-chemicals, and other atmospheric pollutants especially for the rapidly emerging market of urban emissions monitoring. This position is based in Santa Clara, California and is ideal for someone with a long history of creating product requirements for atmospheric monitoring, and who can work directly with customers and engineering teams to define the next generation of product requirements.
This is a hands-on role, which works closely with the business and technical teams including Engineering, inbound product management, Marketing, Research and Development, Sales, and Customer support. A successful candidate will be contributing to product direction, increasing user delight and market share, and advancing the success of the product lines and features in an Environmental monitoring market.
You will:
- Owning the customer experience, providing critical insight to the new product development team and platform product management by answering customer-oriented questions
- Conduct thorough market research to understand customer needs, competition, and market and political trends. Use this data to define application requirements to be supported by new Picarro instruments.
- Setting strategy for Picarro’s products in atmospheric monitoring networks
- Providing leadership and mentorship for excellence in product management
- Navigating the various government regulatory requirements for air monitoring to ensure Picarro products meet emerging needs
- Attend regional conferences worldwide focused on atmospheric networks to build customer relationships and sit on critical standards committees
- Partner closely with sales, support, application scientists, and customers to develop requirements for new products
- Work with Marketing Communications to keep technical information up to date (e.g., datasheets, application notes and white papers)
- Assist with creation of technical user stories
- Represent Picarro at industry events and conferences.
Must-have qualifications:
- 5-10 years of experience in a similar role
- A Bachelor’s degree in a technical or related field (e.g., Chemistry, Atmospheric Science, Ecology) is required; MBA, MS or PhD is preferred.
- Natural ability to make things happen around you. You manage project ambiguity, complexity, and interdependencies in an organized and structured way. Be able to define and analyze metrics that inform the success of products
- Ability to comprehend and digest complex technical and application information and distill it into simple, easy-to-understand information for sales, management, and non-expert end users.
- Experience in Jira is a plus
- Excellent communication skills.
- Willing and able to travel ~25%, including to California
Salary & Benefits:
The base salary range for this full-time position is $165,000 - $200,000 USD. Your base salary range and title will be determined based on the location, experience, qualification, skills, knowledge, level, and pay of employees in similar positions.
