The Opportunity
This position is based at our Chicago Willis location within Abbott’s Strategic Programs and Connected Solutions group under Business and Technology Services. We are seeking a Senior Product Manager, IT with outstanding leadership, relationship-building, and storytelling abilities, driving product life cycle to drive the commercialization of strategic product including AI/GenAI products. This role is pivotal in guiding product development, leading cross-functional teams, and ensuring product success.
Responsibilities:
- Leadership: Oversee a team of product managers, providing coaching and mentorship to enhance their skills. Lead and manage a diverse portfolio of products across various divisions.
- Product Development Guidance: Provide guidance and support on product development activities, including planning inception/problem definition, prototyping, user stories, core development activities, and collaboration with global cross-functional and business teams.
- Executive Communication: Lead executive-level communication to share value and outcomes.
- Early-Phase Planning: Lead early-phase product planning activities, including business justification, implementation, execution of product commercialization plans, and measuring and communicating impact.
- Competitive Analysis: Develop competitive analysis and clearly define product positioning, key issues, strategies, and target audiences for assigned products/product lines.
- Marketing Collaboration: Collaborate and partner with marketing and division product managers on integrated marketing business plan deliverables and business roadmap.
- Advisory Board Leadership: Lead the product planning advisory board for products/product lines including AI/Gen AI
- Development Team Collaboration: Work with the development team to support product development, build PRDs, define roadmaps, and own product requirements/user stories during the product development lifecycle.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Conduct product overviews with stakeholders and present product plans to internal management.
- Global Team Relationships: Build strong relationships with global teams to ensure successful product launches and collaborate on new enablement tools.
- Insight-Driven Decisions: Understand the value and make informed, insight-driven decisions.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in business or marketing, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Master's degree (MBA is a plus).
Required Experience:
- 12+ years of experience in healthcare, life sciences, or technology-based products working with brand and marketing teams.
- Expertise in developing product roadmaps and fostering collaboration across cross-functional teams.
- Experience managing complex product portfolios, driving end-to-end product development from initial concept to final delivery.
- Expertise in innovation, strategic product planning, and commercial execution.
- Proven experience leading GenAI/AI product teams.
- Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
- Capable of leading talent and also functioning as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Ability to leverage and engage others to achieve results.
- Ability to develop, rationalize, and present insight-driven strategy.
- Understanding of digital (Websites, mobile) and AI landscape
- Strong analytical and computer skills, with working with technical architecture teams.
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills, with attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
- About 2 years of marketing experience preferred.
- Experience working preferably in the medical device/Healthcare industry.
- Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels within the organization.

The base pay for this position is
$127,300.00 – $254,700.00In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
