Cedar’s mission is to empower us all to easily and affordably pursue the care we need.
The Role
Lead Cedar's Integration Standards team, driving product development and establishing data integration standards to improve healthcare financial experiences.
Summary Generated by Built In

Our healthcare system is the leading cause of personal bankruptcy in the U.S. Every year, over 50 million Americans suffer adverse financial consequences as a result of seeking care, from lower credit scores to garnished wages. The challenge is only getting worse, as high deductible health plans are the fastest growing plan design in the U.S.

Cedar’s mission is to leverage data science, smart product design and personalization to make healthcare more affordable and accessible. Today, healthcare providers still engage with its consumers in a “one-size-fits-all” approach; and Cedar is excited to leverage consumer best practices to deliver a superior experience.

The Role

Cedar is improving the healthcare financial experience. Our technology improves the overall experience of patient billing and engagement, enabling healthcare providers to thrive in a constantly evolving environment while helping patients understand the cost of their care.

Cedar is looking for a Senior Product Manager to lead our Integration Standards team. As the product lead, you will set priorities and steer product development of our integration standards and the tools needed to support the standards. You will own one of the most impactful and challenging areas of the Cedar product landscape by establishing integration standards around the data model and logic used today. You will build expertise on more than just our platform, product workflows and technology; you will develop a deep understanding of our clients’ operations that both affect data upstream as well as make downstream use of the data exchanged with Cedar. Your end-to-end perspective of people, process and technology will allow you to set the course for how we integrate complex and sensitive health system data. You and your team will ensure that our patient and operational staff end users have reliable, cross-system access to accurate, up-to-date and secure information.

* Cedar is committed to a flexible work environment, so this as well as many of our other roles are remote-friendly.

Responsibilities

  • Product discovery: Lead product discovery through direct client engagement and desk research in order to better understand use cases and drive clarity regarding the problems that matter most.
  • Internal + external influence: In this role, you will work internally across Cedar and externally with Cedar’s clients and partners to drive integration standards.
  • Product definition: You will own and define Cedar’s integration standards by defining + refining our normalized data model across providers and the tools needed to support providers. You will evolve that definition over time to meet our goals of building a modern data exchange platform.
  • Roadmapping: Define the roadmap for strategic build needed to support data definitions in balance with provider roll outs to bring providers up to new standards.

Prioritization: Define prioritization of projects across definition of necessary tooling, new integration standards, rolling out to steady state provider, and smaller ad hoc singular provider enhancements

  • Versioning and migration: As you evolve Cedar’s integration standards, you and the team will also ensure internal alignment on plans for older, legacy integrations to migrate to newer versions of the Cedar standard, minimizing downtime and functionality loss.

Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years of experience in product management, co-founder or related technical role.
  • At least 3 years of experience building and shipping technical products that manage data.
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders at large enterprises
  • Experience establishing data governance frameworks and driving alignment across stakeholders
  • Track record of shipping products that deliver measurable results
  • Strong knowledge on data exchanges and models for major EHR players (eg. Epic, athena, Cerner)

Bonus Qualifications

  • Technical background
  • Healthcare RCM knowledge

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Compensation Range and Benefits

  • Salary/Hourly Rate Range*: $178,500 - 210,000
  • This role is equity eligible
  • This role offers a competitive benefits and wellness package

*Subject to location, experience, and education
