Reporting directly to the Manager I, R&D Engineering, you as a Senior Product Engineer will be responsible for leading the design, development, modification, and evaluation of complex product options while providing advanced engineering recommendations to meet and exceed requirements. You will ensure that results comply with design specifications and will perform high-level technical design tasks as needed.
You will also be authorized to drive strategic modifications to current designs to improve performance, lead cost-reduction initiatives, and oversee projects with certification agencies for approval of engineering changes.

You will participate and often take the lead in engineering change management, create and update designs, collaborate with cross-functional teams at a senior level, and guide problem-solving activities using advanced structured methodologies. In addition, you will clarify technical requirements for internal and external customers, support prototype management, validation, and documentation updates with greater autonomy and decision-making authority.

About the Job:
  • Create and develop product designs, including drawing and modeling tasks at a senior level.

  • Understand and use the ECO / GCF system for engineering updates with full ownership of assigned projects.

  • Develop preliminary drawings and ensure proper creation and delivery of marked-up documentation with high accuracy.

  • Verify that markup formats include all required information and provide guidance as needed.

  • Conduct and potentially lead feasibility analysis meetings with operations and service teams.

  • Develop and track approved engineering changes through release in the system (LGDV), ensuring alignment with strategic timelines.

  • Participate in new product introductions, modifications, and cost-reduction projects, providing senior-level technical input.

  • Attend phase review meetings and define commitment dates for design and validation activities, ensuring accountability across teams.

  • Follow up on deadlines and deliver results according to plan with minimal supervision.

  • Collaborate effectively in team environments while providing technical leadership.

  • Clarify technical requirements related to raw materials, product design, specifications (ISO, IMDS, RoHS), and certifications (UL, CSA, VDE).

  • Apply structured problem-solving techniques such as 5 Whys, 8D, A3, Ishikawa diagrams, and Six Sigma at an advanced level.

  • Support prototype management and fabrication, guiding junior engineers when required.

  • Perform product validation and generate or update specification sheets with senior oversight.

  • Create product deviations and support quality improvement initiatives, ensuring alignment with engineering standards.

  • Location: Piedras Negras, Coahuila.

About You:
  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial, Electronic, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.

  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in engineering roles.

  • English level: Fluent (spoken, written, and reading).

  • Advanced knowledge of Core Tools (FMEA, Control Plan, APQP, PPAP, SPC).

  • Experience with ISO or TS standards.
