Job Description
Responsibilities
- Primarily responsible for the development and characterization of semiconductor equipment at a customer site.
- Responsible for chamber matching / startup activities and meeting productivity specs to show equipment maturity to be transferred to high volume manufacturing.
- Setup, qualify, and evaluate HW items. Run marathons and work with factory to develop CIP HW and procedures for tool startup, extendibility, and HW needed to expand the operation area.
- Creates DOEs and FTAs to optimize and resolve productivity issues, either onsite or at factory.
- Works with process engineers, field team, and sales to prepare changes, additions, and modifications, which will facilitate customer adoption and improve quality of process equipment.
- Responsible for quality processing of all material processed through the machine, including internal process development activities and customer demonstrations.
- May require international travel for demonstrations at factory or process start up at customer sites.
- Coordinates machine activities in the applications lab including process development work, maintenance activities, troubleshooting, etc.
- Provides input for customer demo experimental design; acts as a technical customer interface.
- Provides input to TEL factory on process and machine issues and works closely with the factory on solutions.
- Performs simple maintenance and run wafers on the applications lab equipment as needed.
Typical Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree with 8 years of related experience; or Master's Degree with 6 years of related experience; or Associate's Degree with 12 years of related experience; or 16 years of experience in lieu of degree. High school diploma or equivalent required.
Physical Demands and Work Conditions
- The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This job operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required, which would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 35 pounds. This position also requires 4 to 6 hours per day at a computer screen/keyboard.
