As principal advisor, he/she will be required to demonstrate clear ability to transform conceptual ideas into detailed, actionable plans. Considering industry best-in-class initiatives to transform Micron's category strategies into world class performance. Team member must be able to influence market practices, develop external benchmark capabilities and first-of-a-kind supplier management practices.
Own the Global Relationship for a Large Strategic Supplier or Suppliers
  • Be the primary point of contact for a global supplier that spans many processes and types of materials/tools and act as "one source of truth" for the account
  • Perform or participate in commercial supplier qualification activities to ensure the commercial development of strategic suppliers
  • Serve as lead for cross-category and significant company to company escalations; support category escalations for assigned suppliers as needed
  • Serve as the center of knowledge for assigned supplier(s) and share knowledge with key stakeholders and members of the category teams to enable more effective planning, forecasting and execution
  • Communicate key supplier management updates and decisions to multiple levels in the organization, including Executive Leadership
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with supplier(s) while effectively resolving supplier performance/capability issues to ensure alignment with Micron's strategic direction
  • Communicate supplier performance management results and activities for assigned suppliers to the Category Director

Responsible for the Commercial Supplier Relationship
  • Support supplier qualification activities to ensure the commercial development of a strategic supplier
  • Ensure supplier contracts meet stakeholder needs and both parties comply with terms once finalized
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with the supplier while effectively resolving supplier performance/capability issues to ensure alignment with Micron's strategic direction
  • Ensure the supplier complies with Micron's code-of-conduct programs and corporate social responsibility initiatives
  • Create and foster a collaborative environment with suppliers to generate optimum value to the Micron network.
  • Enlist senior management, when appropriate, to help reinforce commitment and involvement from suppliers

Identify and Implement Supplier-Related Savings Levers
  • Incorporate savings targets and contract requirements across categories into negotiations
  • Participate in supplier segmentation and strategic goal setting
  • Coordinate supplier initiatives with category teams
  • Provide market intelligence and price trends to relevant internal stakeholders on a disciplined schedule
  • Utilize should-cost models that are benchmarked and relevant to the global marketplace
  • Serve as the center of knowledge and share knowledge with key stakeholders and members of the category teams to enable more effective planning, forecasting and execution

Drive a Holistic Negotiation Strategy with Supplier for New Business and Sustaining Purchases
  • Collaborate across categories to ensure unified negotiation plans
  • Lead or participate in negotiations for contract extensions and renewals, renegotiation of prices, transfers, etc.
  • Coordinate with Category Sourcing Managers to incorporate sourcing events/RFQ process into bundled negotiation
  • Incorporate savings targets and contract requirements into negotiations
  • Develop a contract strategy for suppliers and create, negotiate, monitor and enforce contracted terms and conditions

Ensure Supplier Performance Management
  • Partner with category team and stakeholders to build comprehensive view of supplier performance
  • Assist Category Team in relaying site specific priorities to supplier
  • Collaborate internally to drive and develop key performance measures/metrics and monitor supplier performance against these expectations to ensure continuous supplier improvement
  • Lead in organizing and delivering on supplier events, such as Quarterly Business Reviews, Annual Supplier Evaluations, and Executive Review Meetings

Collaborate with Stakeholders to Deliver Strategic Solutions
  • Develop and maintain expertise in the assigned supplier(s) through relationships with Category Director, Global Category Managers, and Category Supplier Managers
  • Implement processes to monitor stakeholder satisfaction with key suppliers
  • Drive customer-centric approach to solving issues and representing Procurement
  • Maintain close interaction with business partners to ensure supplier-related needs are addressed
  • Manage conflict and build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide advice to senior and executive management on strategic decisions related to the supplier(s)
  • Integrates AI-assisted tools and insights into daily work to improve efficiency, quality, or effectiveness, exercising sound judgment and complying with organizational standards and legal requirements.
  • Contributes to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, testing, and sharing AI-enabled enhancements within one's scope of work.

Requirements
  • Degree in Engineering, with min 10 years of experience in HVM environment
  • Strong expertise in strategic supplier management and commercial negotiations, including contract development, price benchmarking, and cost modeling in a global environment.
  • Proven experience in supplier qualification, performance management, and cross-category sourcing strategies, with ability to drive value through structured supplier engagement and market intelligence.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication skills, with ability to influence cross-functional teams and align internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving capability, with demonstrated ability to translate complex business challenges into actionable plans and deliver outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to leverage AI and data analytics tools (e.g., digital procurement platforms, data visualization, AI-assisted analysis) to enhance supplier insights, support decision-making, and drive productivity and business outcomes.
