Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Sr Principal Engineer Electrical to join the team of qualified individuals. Position is located in Palmdale, CA.
Lead cross-functional design and integration of avionics power systems, redundancy strategies, and harness/test-stand development for advanced aerospace platforms. Apply your ability to interpret schematics and wiring to troubleshoot in the lab and deliver robust solutions for diverse customers and projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks.
- Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.
- Troubleshooting in lab, working with testers and assisting in processes.

Basic Qualifications:
- Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 8 years of related professional/military experience, OR a Master's degree AND 6 years of related professional/military experience, OR a Ph.D. AND 4 years of related professional/military experience to include a background in.
- Must have an active US Government Top Secret clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, harness drawings, and/or test-stand block diagrams.
- Knowledge of power distribution and redundancy
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Teamcenter/CPLM
- Experience in designing or architecting avionics or aerospace electrical systems, including flight control computers, power systems, sensors, and communication systems.
- Excellent interpersonal, written communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly and succinctly communicate complex concepts to both Government and corporate leadership.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, or similar.
- Current applicable Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.
