The Senior Operations Accountant plays a key role at The Lot at Formosa in the annual day-to-day accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting for the asset. This position requires strong expertise in Yardi (or equivalent ERP system), strong understanding of accounting processes, and real estate operations. The role supports both recurring and ad hoc financial needs, including investor reporting, operational metrics, CAM reconciliations, and year end processes. The ideal candidate brings analytical rigor, technical proficiency, and the ability to collaborate across teams and joint venture partners.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Apply advanced knowledge of Yardi and operations/financials to manage general accounting and reporting functions for portfolio.
- Serve as a key member of the business team, ensuring accuracy and consistency in tenant reporting, billing, customer service, budgets, business plans, and other projects as outlined by leadership.
- Develop systematic recommendations to enhance operations by reviewing financial data and provide feedback on efficiency measures on all facets of portfolio operations.
- Partner with Administration and Operations teams to support operational metrics, due diligence, and investor reporting.
- Act as a liaison with SKR leadership, joint‑venture partners, and stakeholders to fulfill reporting requirements and respond to inquiries.
- Prepare timely ad-hoc financial reports and assist in process improvements.
- Create, reconcile, and validate year‑end budget reconciliations and new‑year budget entries, ensuring alignment with balance sheet and income statement accounts.
- Drive process for CAM reconciliations, estimates, ledger reconciliations, budget comparison, financial reporting, and other projects as requested by leadership.
- Prepare lender covenant reporting for assigned fund investments.
- Provide oversight of Accounts Payable under the VP of Administration and Operations.
- Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for tax filings, and valuation processes.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: (including certification, licenses, etc.)
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum 3 years of experience of real estate property reporting, Yardi (or equivalent ERP experience), CAM reconciliation, and expense estimation.
