Sr Mobile Developer (React Native + Android/IOS developer + Functional Programming + JEST Testing + Exp in performing code reviews + Exp in writing any react native module)

Sr. Software Engineer (Mobile Development), Assurant-GCC, India

In this role, you will work closely with a small product team to create mobile applications and SDKs to serve customers with engaging, dynamic user experience. We have seen people thrive in this role from a variety of backgrounds, but we work primarily in React Native, Android and iOS. 

Responsibilities include solving problems independently and with peers, researching and experimenting with new technology and UX designs, and building features that we measure for value to our users. Candidates must have strong communication skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, sound judgment, and the ability to be productive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

This position will be in Hyderabad at our India location. 

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

•    60% - Software Development – Active Coding

•    20 % - Software Development – Code Reviews

•    10% - Attend Agile Ceremonies (Planning, Retro, PI Events, etc)

•    10% - Update / Design / Review architectural documents related to APIs or product flows

•    Other projects and assignments may result and be assigned to accommodate the changing needs of the department and the company. 

What are the requirements needed for this position?

•    A bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, information technology, or another equivalent applicable STEM field.

Technical Experience Requirements

•    8+ years of overall software development experience

•    5+ years of mobile development experience

•    3+ Experience developing React Native

•    3+ Experience consuming GraphQL and RESTful APIs  

•    JavaScript/Typescript experience

•    Strong understanding of GIT version control

•    Strong foundation in object-oriented or functional programming

•    Solid understanding of full development lifecycle

•    A disciplined and methodical approach to development, testing and quality assurance

•    Ability to own tasks and approach them as a problem to solve over execution

•    Ability to resolve ambiguity in requirements

•    A desire for deep technical understanding of our systems and architecture

What are the preferred requirements needed for this position?

•    Experience with native iOS and Android development in Swift, Java/Kotlin

•    Experience with Ruby & Ruby on Rails development

•    Experience with testing frameworks such as Jest, XCTest, Espresso, or Detox
