Job Summary:
The Google Marketing Platform/Google Analytics (Product Owner) maximizes the adoption of the product and prioritizes the work of the related Development Team. The Product Owner's primary task is to gather requirements from business partners, create and manage the Product Backlog and to ensure on-time, high quality delivery. The Product Owner is empowered to make decisions regarding the product and priorities and is typically the individual closest to the business partners side of the project. Communication with business partners and technical development teams is a key skill required for this position.
What You Will Do:
This role is responsible for delivering Google Marketing Platform/Google Analytics product ownership including intake, business requirements, implementation prioritization, training, reporting and insights in support of Caterpillar's digital strategy. This includes partnering with digital channel owners as well as internal data science, customer service, marketing, legal and technology teams to ensure the organization has access to, understands and can act on our customers' on-site digital behavior. In support of these goals, this Product Owner will work directly with the Google Solutions Engineering Team.
Related Responsibilities include:
- Responsible for acting as Product Owner and maximizing and prioritizing the value of the product.
- Responsible for creating, maintaining, prioritizing and communicating the Product Backlog to create high value and meet business partner requirements.
- Responsible for the requirements gathering, and conveying the requirements to the engineering team.
- Act as the key decision-maker, along with engaging with business partner, regarding what will be enabled within each project and project release date.
- Represent the customer along with the business partner, and work closely and communicate with key stakeholders and business partners throughout the organization.
- Participate in Sprint Planning meetings, Reveals and Retrospectives.
- Inspect the product progress at the end of each project prior to release and accept or reject the work that has been done by the Engineering/Development Team.
- Be a champion for governance and processes to ensure team effectiveness.
- Providing enterprise training, reporting and insights and maintain documentation.
- Innovating new product use ideas to meet business partner needs and requirements.
- Be and stay up-to-date on legal and compliance changes within global marketing and analytics areas.
- Employee is also responsible for performing other job duties as assigned by Caterpillar product management from time to time.
What You Will Have:
Business Analysis: Knowledge of business analysis and the set of tasks, techniques and tools required to identify business needs; ability to recommend solutions that deliver value to stakeholders.
Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
Software Change Request Management: Knowledge of software change request management; ability to manage software product change requests from customers, prospective customers, vendors, and internal staff.
Software Engineering: Knowledge of software engineering; ability to deliver new or enhanced fee-based software products.
Software Problem Management: Knowledge of strategies, practices and tools for resolving software problems; ability to manage software problems in installed software products.
Software Product Business Knowledge: Knowledge of and experience with the business aspects and operation of a software product; ability to manage install base, current uses, future plans, and product vision.
Considerations For Top Candidates:
- Bachelor's Degree, preferably in analytics, statistics, marketing, or other related field or equivalent working experience
- 5+ years' experience as a Business Analyst, Implementation Specialist, Team Lead or Product Owner or Related Title
- 5+ years experience implementing or managing implementation of Google Analytics 360 Universal, GA4 or Firebase via Google Tag Manager
- Product Owner certification (CSPO from Scrum Alliance)
- Top candidates will also possess these Qualifications
- Google Analytics Individual Qualification
- Experience with Azure DevOps.
- Experience with Digital Marketing technologies, including campaign tracking and Salesforce Sales Cloud and Marketing Cloud Google Analytics integrations
- Demonstrated ability to empower teams and communicate appropriately to ensure business partner and team's success and meet deadlines
- Strong accountability planning/organization, and teamwork
- Highly developed interpersonal skills to deal with sensitive, emotional or potentially controversial situations.
- Experience communicating analytical insights to various levels of leadership.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Experience working with onshore/offshore team model
- Technically knowledgeable in Google Marketing Platform
- Strong analytical skills, proficient with GCP BigQuery, Microsoft O365 Products, Tableau and Data Studio and data analysis methodologies and execution
- Good knowledge of Caterpillar policies, standards, procedures, and a broad understanding of Caterpillar's organization

Summary Pay Range:
$123,480.00 - $200,640.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
