The Role

About the Job:

The Senior Marketing Specialist, BioPharma Brand Marketing is an execution-driven marketing role responsible for managing and supporting a wide range of brand marketing activities across the BioPharma business. This role plays a critical part in ensuring marketing initiatives are planned, executed, reviewed, and delivered effectively across channels and systems.

This individual partners closely with the Biopharma Brand Marketing, Product Marketing, and Strategic Marketing teams while also partnering cross-functionally with Biopharma Training, Procurement, Finance, Compliance, and external vendors to keep marketing programs moving forward in a timely, compliant, and organized manner. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple concurrent priorities while communicating clearly across teams and levels, often working independently to move initiatives forward.

The successful Senior Marketing Specialist will be a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can juggle competing priorities, and keeps marketing initiatives organized and moving forward. This role requires someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats, tracking details across projects, and supporting the team through strong coordination, follow-through, and communication.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Marketing Execution & Program Support:
    • Support ongoing BioPharma brand marketing initiatives, including congress promotion, digital and email campaigns, website updates, and other integrated marketing programs as needed
    • Enable end-to-end email execution (creation, scheduling, deployment, reporting, and optimization) in partnership with Brand Marketing, leveraging marketing automation and CRM platforms
    • Conduct quality assurance on marketing materials to ensure accuracy, compliance, and adherence to brand and regulatory standards
  • PRC (Promotional Review Committee) Coordination:
    • Serve as the primary coordinator for PRC submissions and reviews for BioPharma marketing materials within the PromoMats system, including submission setup, routing, and status tracking
    • Support ongoing PRC reviews by coordinating reviewer feedback, timelines, resubmissions, and approvals
    • Prepare and provide accurate and clear annotations, including claims and reference linking to support the PRC review
    • Monitor and manage upcoming expirations for marketing materials, claims, and references related to the BioPharma team
    • Share approved materials with internal stakeholders and ensure only current, approved assets are in use
  • Project Management (Wrike):
    • Create Wrike projects and tasks for Brand Marketing initiatives, including defining timelines, assigning roles, and establishing dependencies
    • Monitor task progress, follow up on outstanding deliverables, and help ensure projects remain on track to meet deadlines
    • Maintain visibility across multiple projects and provide clear status updates to stakeholders as needed
  • Content & Asset Coordination (ShowPad):
    • Support ShowPad submission for marketing-related materials, including uploading new assets, replacing outdated content, and retiring expired materials
    • Partner with the Training lead to ensure appropriate ShowPad sections and structures are in place to support marketing and field needs
    • Partner with Brand Marketing to effectively communicate ShowPad updates to the Business Development team
    • Ensure alignment between PRC-approved content and field-facing materials
  • Contracting, Purchasing & PO Coordination:
    • Support marketing-related contracting and purchasing processes, including vendor initiation, contract submissions, and PO approvals
    • Coordinate with Legal, Compliance, Procurement, and Finance to obtain required approvals
    • Track contract and PO status, maintain documentation, and communicate progress to Brand Marketing leadership and relevant stakeholders
  • Cross-Functional Logistical Support:
    • Act as a liaison for marketing-related logistics coordination
    • Provide ongoing marketing and administrative support to the BioPharma Brand Marketing team as priorities evolve
    • Role and responsibilities are subject to change based on team priorities and business needs

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of related experience; or 3 years and a master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience
  • 2 years of experience in the healthcare industry, including biopharmaceutical, medical device, and/or diagnostics

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in healthcare marketing 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, workflows, and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Experience supporting PRC submissions and reviews (e.g., PromoMats).
  • Familiarity with marketing project management tools (e.g., Wrike) and content management or enablement platforms (e.g., ShowPad).
  • Experience supporting contract, purchasing, and PO approval workflows.
  • Experience executing digital and email marketing campaigns using marketing automation and CRM platforms.
  • Strong attention to detail and comfort managing complex, fast-moving workstreams.
  • Understanding of HIPAA and importance of privacy of patient data

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Boston, MA is $98,240 - $122,800 per year. The salary range is commensurate with Foundation Medicine’s compensation practice and considers factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, external market conditions, criticality of role, and internal equity. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for Foundation Medicine's benefits.
