Requirements

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Senior Marketing Manager will lead GLS’s marketing strategy, brand development, and market growth initiatives. This role is responsible for developing and executing integrated marketing programs that strengthen GLS’s presence in the logistics industry, drive customer engagement, and support revenue growth.

Reporting to senior leadership, the Senior Marketing Manager will lead and develop a team of Marketing Coordinators, providing direction and mentorship to ensure consistent execution of high-impact marketing initiatives. The role will oversee multi-channel campaigns, brand positioning, and marketing communications while ensuring alignment with company objectives.

This leader will partner closely with Sales, Commercial, and Operations teams to support go-to-market strategies, product development, and service launches, while helping drive awareness as GLS expands its network and service footprint. They will also leverage market insights and performance analytics to refine marketing strategies and improve campaign effectiveness.

The ideal candidate is a strategic and hands-on marketing leader with strong collaboration skills and a deep understanding of customer engagement, brand positioning, and data-driven marketing execution.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy that strengthens GLS’s market position and supports growth across key shipping segments within the parcel, logistics, and e-commerce delivery industry.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Marketing Coordinators, establishing clear priorities, accountability, and professional development while ensuring consistent execution of marketing initiatives.
  • Partner closely with Sales leadership to develop targeted go-to-market strategies that drive new customer acquisition and expansion within small and medium-sized businesses (SMB), enterprise accounts, and e-commerce shippers.
  • Design and execute integrated marketing campaigns—including digital marketing, demand generation, events, and customer communications—that build awareness and drive measurable growth in key markets.
  • Support product development initiatives by collaborating with operations, technology, and commercial teams to bring new services and capabilities to market, ensuring strong positioning, clear messaging, and successful product launches.
  • Support GLS network expansion and footprint growth by developing marketing strategies that introduce new markets, facilities, and service capabilities, helping accelerate adoption and customer awareness in newly served regions.
  • Analyze market trends, shipper behavior, and competitive activity within the parcel and e-commerce delivery industry to identify growth opportunities and inform marketing strategy.
  • Develop sales enablement tools and marketing assets—including case studies, presentations, industry insights, and digital content—that support the commercial team in winning and retaining customers.
  • Oversee public relations, corporate communications, and brand storytelling initiatives that highlight GLS’s service capabilities, network strength, and customer success.
  • Manage marketing analytics and performance tracking, using data-driven insights to improve campaign effectiveness, customer engagement, and marketing ROI.
  • Manage marketing budgets, external agencies, and vendors to ensure initiatives are delivered efficiently and aligned with strategic priorities.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or related field; advanced degree a plus.
  • Proven experience (7+ years) in marketing leadership, brand management, or strategic marketing roles.
  • Strong background in market research, marketing planning, and campaign execution.
  • Experience collaborating with Sales teams or supporting commercial strategy.
  • Understanding of logistics, supply chain, or related industries (preferred).
  • Exceptional communication, analytical, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage budgets, and drive measurable results.
  • Proficiency with CRM tools (Salesforce preferred), HubSpot, Google Analytics and Microsoft Office.
