As part of the US Higher Education team, the Senior Marketing Manager, Brand drives the Higher Ed brand strategy. This role implements, protects, upholds, and promotes the Cengage brand to increase brand awareness, influence marketing campaigns, drive web and social traffic, build customer engagement and increase consumer loyalty. This role plays a key role in shaping Cengage’s brand perception and driving its growth in the market.

What you'll do here:

  • Protect – ensures all products and services that fall under the brand are consistent and resonate with current and future customers.

  • Uphold – consults with marketing teams crafting campaigns to ensure that the brand is being activated accurately. Implement – collaborates across functions to implement the new brand across channels and mediums.

  • Amplify – supports reputational content campaigns and brings stories and examples from customers into our content.

  • Educate – works with internal partners and external vendors and agencies to help them adopt, understand and respect the brand in their work.

  • Guide/Maintain – stays on top of market and industry activity, partnering with our in-house research team, to keep the brand relevant and competitive, yet still true to who we are.

  • Lead – maintains and continues to refresh assets and improve the brand center.

  • Collaborate – works across marketing teams and market research to ensure the brand is relevant, relatable and compelling. Implement – owns cohesive brand strategy across multiple channels including social media, blogs and brand partnerships.

Skills you will need here:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.

  • Minimum of 8 years of confirmed experience in customer centric roles and leading a brand across multiple markets

  • Strong understanding of brand strategy, brand management, and brand positioning.

  • Experience in developing and implementing creative brand campaigns across various channels.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and collaborators, and ability to speak “creative,” “tech,” and “business”.

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to analyze market trends, customer insights, and brand performance metrics to identify long term opportunities.

  • Proficiency in conducting market research and competitive analysis to find opportunities for brand differentiation.

  • Knowledge of creative development processes, including working with external agencies and vendors.

  • Familiarity with brand guidelines development and implementation to ensure consistent brand representation.

  • Ability to apply big picture thinking and dive into small details, organized and independent approach to work, and creative and analytical problem solver.

The full base pay range has been provided for this position. Individual base pay will vary based on work schedule, qualifications, experience, internal equity, and geographic location. Sales roles often incorporate a significant incentive compensation program beyond this base pay range.
