Sr Manufacturing Support Specialist

As a Senior Manufacturing Support Specialist, you will provide functional expertise and business process support for manufacturing, supply chain, and financial operations across the Spectra® business within Solstice Advanced Materials. As a member of the Supply Planning organization, you will serve as the primary subject matter expert for SAP master data, manufacturing business processes, and business-critical applications that support operations across Colonial Heights, multiple toller sites, and distribution centers.

This role partners closely with Manufacturing, Supply Planning, Purchasing, Finance, Quality, and Information Technology to ensure accurate system data, reliable business processes, and uninterrupted support of a 24/7 manufacturing operation. The Senior Manufacturing Support Specialist plays a critical role in maintaining the systems and processes that enable production, inventory management, product movement, and business reporting throughout the Spectra® manufacturing network.

Core challenges include maintaining master data integrity, supporting critical manufacturing and supply chain applications, resolving system and transactional issues that could impact operations, and driving continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, data quality, and business performance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Serve as the lead SAP manufacturing and master data specialist supporting operations across Colonial Heights, multiple toller sites, and distribution centers.
• Provide first-line support and troubleshooting for production, purchasing, inventory, shipping, and finance-related business processes.
• Serve as business owner for SAP, Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), and other business-critical manufacturing applications, ensuring system reliability and uninterrupted support of a 24/7 manufacturing operation.
• Respond to and resolve application outages, interface failures, and critical system issues in a timely manner to minimize operational disruption and maintain manufacturing continuity.
• Maintain SAP master data including material masters, bills of materials, recipes, production versions, and purchasing records to ensure data accuracy and operational effectiveness.
• Support month-end, year-end, and Annual Operating Plan (AOP) activities by maintaining system data integrity and executing critical manufacturing and inventory transactions that support financial reporting requirements.
• Monitor and resolve inventory discrepancies, transactional exceptions, production posting issues, and system integration errors across manufacturing and supply chain processes.
• Lead system enhancements, upgrades, testing activities, and implementation projects in partnership with Information Technology and business stakeholders.
• Analyze operational and business data to identify opportunities to improve efficiency, data quality, and overall business performance.
• Develop and maintain procedures, training materials, and system documentation while providing guidance and support to business users across the organization.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives that enhance system performance, business processes, and operational effectiveness across the Spectra® business.
• Provide off-hours support for critical manufacturing and business systems as required to support continuous operations.

• Lead and manage a team of specialists to provide manufacturing support for projects
• Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to develop and execute project plans
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to the team in solving complex manufacturing problems
• Ensure adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing processes and efficiency

YOU MUST HAVE:

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience supporting manufacturing, supply chain, ERP, or business systems within a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated strong experience with SAP manufacturing, inventory management, purchasing, and supply chain processes.
• Experience maintaining and managing complex master data structures, including material masters, bills of materials, recipes, and production versions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and make sound business decisions with minimal supervision.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines.

• Experience supporting Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and integrated manufacturing applications.
• Experience supporting finance-related processes, including inventory reconciliation, month-end close activities, and variance analysis.
• Knowledge of manufacturing, supply chain, procurement, warehouse operations, and distribution processes.
• Experience leading business system implementations, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, Power BI, and related reporting tools.
• Experience in chemical, polymer, fiber, or advanced materials manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of master data governance and data quality management practices.
• Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement experience.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
• Ability to influence others and drive sustainable solutions without direct authority.

COMPENSATION

The annual base salary range for this position is $86,703K - $108,378K. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline.
