Summary:
The Sr. Manufacturing Improvement Engineer leads strategic initiatives to drive continuous improvement in manufacturing, with a primary focus on scrap reduction, process optimization, and data-driven decision-making. This role supervises a multidisciplinary team, including engineering technicians and Business Intelligence Analysts, to consolidate and optimize production databases and develop operational dashboards. The position reports directly to the Plant Manager and is responsible for project management, team development, and the implementation of best practices in manufacturing excellence.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead improvement projects targeting scrap reduction and process optimization in both manual and automated manufacturing environments.
- Supervise and mentor engineering technicians and Business Intelligence Analysts, ensuring effective collaboration and technical development.
- Build, consolidate, and optimize production databases for legacy manual processes, while integrating data from automated systems.
- Design and maintain dashboards and KPIs for real-time monitoring and expedited decision-making across hybrid operations.
- Apply advanced statistical analysis to identify trends, predict process variations, and optimize performance in both manual and automated workflows.
- Drive automation and systems integration initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and data accuracy.
- Lead and support continuous improvement culture using our EBS (Envista Business System) principles and tools.
- Document and communicate process changes, involving Engineering, Quality, and Production teams.
- Lead improvement projects, defining objectives, timelines, resources, and tracking results.
- Ensure compliance with local and corporate quality and safety standards.
- Actively participate in daily operational meetings and report progress to the Plant Manager
- Work closely with support departments to optimize manufacturing processes and resolve issues efficiently
- Ensure all project or improvement consistently comply with quality management systems and applicable medical device regulations (e.g., ISO 13485, FDA)
- Lead and support continuous improvement culture using our EBS (Envista Business System) principles and tools.
Job Requirements:
Education/Experience/Requirements:
- Professional, preferably a Mechanical, Mechatronics, and/or Industrial Engineer.
- +3 years experience on Project management proficiency (planning, execution, and follow-up)
- +3 Advanced knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.
- Basic knowledge of metalworking processes.
- Experience in lean manufacturing environments.
- English Bussines level.
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience in SIX-SIGMA.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience medical devices industry.
- Knowledge of industrial automation and digitalization
- Experience in fixture and tooling design for manufacturing.
