Sr Manager, Supplier Project Engineering

Job Summary

· Able to work in a Class 8 Cleanroom Environment as needed
· Role is based in Cost Rica and the candidate will be in office a minimum of 4 days a week
· From Sept of 2026 to Oct of 2028 the role will sit in a temporary office space next to the construction site of the new factory
· Travel up to 25%, including international travel to suppliers and manufacturing sites.
· Ownership of supplier engineering in region decisions and execution for projects
· Influence supplier selection, validation planning, and component readiness for pilot and production tooling
· Drive supplier process improvements and alignment with long-term automation and scalability goals

Position Overview:

The Supplier Development Engineering (SDE) team is responsible for all supplier projects with regards to safety, service, capacity, cost, supply strategy etc. The SDE team manages a global supply base and sources precision components from around the world for use in its devices.

The Sr Manager is a key member of the Supplier Development Engineering group, embedded in Insulet’s Global Operations organization. This position will lead a Supplier Engineering team who are charged with leading supplier projects for production capital tooling as well as supporting the manufacturing site for all direct material related technical challenges.

The Sr Manager, Supplier Engineering, works closely with peers and leaders in Sourcing, Quality, Engineering, and Manufacturing to manage and implement all SDE projects in region. This position must ensure technical projects are delivered for the enterprise while meeting rigorous financial standards. The Sr Manager must be a seasoned people leader who has a passion for teaching, developing and mentoring employees in best practice methodologies for project execution. This role will report to the VP of Supplier Development Engineering.

The ideal candidate has demonstrated technical project execution and engineering rigor. They also will have led teams through project management and challenging supplier projects. Worked to build supplier management of tools such as molds, stamping tools, springs etc. They will be responsible for execution of projects with significant capital allocations each year that includes financial and resource management.

Responsibilities:

· Build, lead and manage high-performing project engineering team focused on new capital projects

· Report to Supply Management leaders on project health, priorities and metrics

· Owns and develops KPI’s and metrics associated with all capital projects that are transparent and easily accessible through Power BI

· Coach and mentor team members with regards to project management and technical rigor

· Hold accountability for project execution

· Establish governance mechanisms to ensure financial accuracy

· Coordinate with FP&A finance team to support CAPEX and OPEX financial operating rhythm

· Create and maintain site specific Standard Operating Procedures for Supplier Tool Qualifications, Site Verifications, revalidation guidelines, and more that meet the requirements from the Global SDE team.

· Manage standard operating mechanisms for reporting project milestones, risks, escalations, and budgets created by global SDE team

· Other duties as required

Education and Experience Minimum Requirements:

· BS Engineering, MS or MBA preferred

· 10 years of career experience in Engineering, Project Management, Operations

· Demonstrated (5-7 years) development of supplier tools (molds, stamping, machining) and automation preferred

· Worked at a direct material supplier in engineering is desired

· Demonstrated engineering team leadership
