The Senior Manager will partner with Procurement, Supply Chain, Operations, Legal, Treasury, Engineering, and business leaders to assess and prioritize exposure, structure supplier financing and payment protections, establish governance and approval standards, and create portfolio-level transparency. The role will establish and scale practical processes, controls, and decision support that deliver measurable value through improved commercial terms, working-capital outcomes, risk reduction, supplier recovery, and disciplined decision rights.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build and lead the Supplier Commercial Finance function, defining its scope, priorities, engagement model, and success measures.
  • Map commercial terms and approval points from customer quote through supplier commitment, prioritizing strategic deals, critical suppliers, and non-standard exposures.
  • Align supplier terms with customer obligations across payment, cancellation, warranty, liquidated damages, delivery, capacity, pricing, and risk provisions.
  • Design and scale flow-down checklists, approval and waiver thresholds, clause standards, approval matrices, and decision rights.
  • Lead supplier financing and working-capital strategies, including payment terms, advances, milestone releases, discounts, secured protections, investments, and financing programs.
  • Model the cash flow, margin, return, risk, and capacity impacts of supplier terms and financing alternatives, and recommend actions to leadership.
  • Establish protections for supplier advances and milestone payments, including security, title, documentation, release conditions, monitoring, and recovery mechanisms.
  • Assess supplier criticality, spend concentration, financial risk, delivery exposure, warranties, claims, and recoveries at the portfolio level.
  • Track supplier claims, liquidated damages, warranty recoveries, discounts, unprotected cash, and realized returns, with clear ownership and executive reporting.
  • Build the function’s charter, RACI, governance cadence, dashboards, templates, playbooks, and training, embedding controls across commercial workflows.
  • Align global standards and reusable practices with Americas business requirements and supplier-market dynamics.
  • Develop the team and resourcing model, set priorities and expectations, coach talent, and foster ownership, sound judgment, and continuous improvement.
  • Advise on strategic supplier negotiations, major capacity commitments, program deals, critical suppliers, and other complex commercial matters.
