The Social Marketing team is made up of creatives, social strategists, editors, content producers, and meme enthusiasts — entertainment fans who bring the joy of watching Netflix into the social feed. We meet fans wherever they spend time outside the service, curating and creating content across YouTube, X, Instagram, TikTok and beyond, and driving conversation about our brand and titles both inside and outside our owned channels.   By listening to our audiences and communities, we uncover the passions and insights that help fans discover new shows, movies, and talent — and fall even more in love with something they've already watched or will watch next. In this team, you'll create conversation about Netflix by bringing our content into the local social zeitgeist through best-in-class creative.


The Role


We’re looking for an experienced strategic leader who breathes and lives online/digital pop culture, is passionate and curious about entertainment, and knows how to build and run a high-performing team. Most importantly, you will have significant strategic experience in building brands through social media, with experience in audience and creator strategies.   In addition, you’ll combine strong people and project management with creative thinking and a natural ability to tell engaging stories through our channels — always on top of everything social-media-related, always driven to learn and test new things. You are both strategic and hands-on, with the ability to turn bold ideas into best-in-class social executions that reflect the Netflix brand and, above all, generate conversation.


Key Responsibilities


  • Strategy:  Develop a strategy that builds on our leadership in social.   How and with whom do we continue to grow conversation in and outside of our owned channels?    
  • Creator Strategy:  Identify and engage influencers and creators to create impact outside of owned social channels. 
  • Constant Innovation:  Seek new approaches to build the brand in social media.    Explore new ideas and methods that break from the norm and emphasize the brand’s personality.   Create content that resonates with fans’ emotions and encourages involvement with joy and deep engagement.
  • Serve as a thought leader within the team and creative partner on other assets to ensure a healthy overall Netflix Social Marketing editorial ecosystem.
  • Expand and construct the social voice of Netflix across our channels, understanding and impacting culture and connecting with fans through conversation.
  • Be an amazing cross functional partner for the content, publicity, title marketing, photo & AV and events and production teams. 
  • Maximize title excitement:   Lead the team to always creatively elevate the bar  to maximise conversation around our titles. 
  • Lead the high-performing social team that has efficient workflows, budget management, monitoring and measurement of conversation .
  • Flourish as part of a unique team where teamwork, transparency, and candid feedback are expected.

Qualifications


  • 12+ years of experience in entertainment media (social marketing or editorial), including experience building and leading a high-performing team.
  • Thorough understanding of the social media landscape and comprehensive expertise in creating engaging, shareable content.
  • Proven success of developing social media strategies to build brands and create fandom.  
  • Experience developing and executing creator strategies.  
  • Proven success managing end-to-end social initiatives, including budgets, vendors, timelines, and creative concepts.
  • A compelling communicator in written and spoken Spanish and English.
  • Strong analytical skills, a proven track record of using tech to evolve reporting tools and experience in delivering actionable insights from data as well as always  looking for new measurement approaches.  
  • Although organic conversation experience is critical and the priority, the successful candidate should have some experience of executing paid social campaigns and be adept at audience understanding and targeting. 
  • Experience working cross-functionally with teams including PR, marketing, creative, and talent relations.

Reporting & Location


This position reports to the Director of Marketing for Netflix SOLA and is based in Buenos Aires, with scope across Argentina, Chile, Paraguay, and Uruguay. The focus of this role is generating conversation about our titles, talent, and brand.
