Sr. Product Manager OpenBlue Connected Chillers and Vibration Analysis- Job Description
What you will do:
The Connected Services portfolio of offerings within OpenBlue enables our service organization to offer a digital service experience that improves the customer experience, uptime and margin of the service offerings. These offerings are currently delivered through a number of edge and cloud based applications that leverage capabilities of our OpenBlue platform.
Join our team as a Product Manager to be part of the core team that will deliver a strong integrated suite of end to end connected services focusing on our Connected Chiller application and Vibration Analysis offerings. You will have end to end product management responsibilities and work with your peer Product Managers and Engineering Manager to define and execute on a roadmap to build an industry leading product offering.
This role requires:
- Ability to build a product vision and roadmap to deliver a highly successful enterprise level product and solution framework
- Solid experience in defining functional needs of complex applications and programs with clarity of end outcomes, acceptance criteria, dependencies and prioritization
- Understanding of strategies, tactics and measurement and verification requirements related to implementing connected services experiences
- Experience in defining ROI and payback models for customers investing in Digital and Cloud technologies
- Ability to collaborate with a global team of product managers, engineering leads and architects who are well versed with Cloud and IOT based applications
- Understanding and deep interest in smart building technologies, cloud and IOT
- Understanding and experience in Agile Scrum and SAFe tools and techniques
- Up to 10% domestic and international travel when required.
How you will do it:
- Lead evolution of the Product Roadmap based on customer feedback, market analysis, competitive research, strategic priorities and infrastructure/architecture needs
- Partner with Global Service teams, Global Field Organization, Customer Success, Marketing, CX/UX and peer Product Managers to capture and prioritize product needs
- Communicate product vision to senior leadership and contribute to major corporate initiatives as part of a workgroup
- Take high-level concepts and drive them through the evaluation and exploration of potential solutions
- Enable customer adoption and report on success metrics for product features and customer value generated
- Manage front-end phase with ambiguous definitions and multiple directions, while managing technical risk and uncertainty
- Report and review the progress of key release milestones with stakeholders; formalize communication plan to ensure timely, accurate information and updates are provided to appropriate stakeholders
- Enhance team excellence and raise the Innovation bar by accepting ownership for accomplishing new, challenging and diverse requests, and by continually exploring opportunities to increase the value of JCI products to existing and new customers
Qualifications that we look for:
- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Management, Business or related field
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering / development, product management or software sales of cloud based IOT or Smart building solutions
- Experience with artificial intelligence including machine learning, deep learning and GenAI
- Strong understanding and application of IOT concepts, APIs, AI driven analytics, digital twins
- Strong understanding of HVAC concepts in commercial environments
- Experience motivating, organizing, and leading teams from concept definition phase through deployment readiness
- Strong consensus building, conflict resolution, and persuasive skills
- Excellent analytical, logical and project management skills. High level of personal credibility at all levels of the organization
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in changing communication style based on audience (technical, non-technical, executive through individual contributor)
- Ability to manage multiple, potentially changing priorities and effectively coordinate activities across teams
- Demonstrated critical thinking and top-notch problem solving skills
- Demonstrated experience leading and influencing individuals and teams without formal organizational control
Relevant Technologies/Expertise:
- Backlog management using tools such as Jira, Visual Studio, or equivalent
- Product release planning tools like Aha, Microsoft Project or equivalent
- Pricing models for SaaS subscription based solutions and bundled packages
- Use of collaboration tools such as Microsoft SharePoint and Teams
