WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON

We are looking for a highly motivated Procurement leader to help build Qualia’s Procurement team and strategy from the ground up. As our first Procurement hire, this role is a strategic partner responsible for leading all procurement activities, from developing and executing sourcing strategies to negotiating and structuring complex enterprise deals. The ideal candidate will be a key player in optimizing vendor relationships, driving measurable cost savings, and ensuring that our procurement processes are scalable, compliant, and aligned with our financial objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Strategic Sourcing & Deals: Lead and design the end-to-end strategic procurement process, from identifying business needs to sourcing and negotiating complex deals, particularly for SaaS, cloud infrastructure, and professional services
  • Contract Negotiation & Management: Partner with Finance, Legal, InfoSec, and business leaders to structure and negotiate favorable commercial terms, pricing, and conditions for all major enterprise contracts. Organize and manage the vendor renewal process, including communication with internal stakeholders and vendors to ensure timely decisions and optimal contract terms
  • Vendor Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key suppliers, ensuring optimal commercial outcomes while managing performance and mitigating risks
  • Financial Analysis: Evaluate and benchmark vendor proposals, clearly framing risks and returns for executive-level decision-making. Communicate the P&L impact of vendor and deal decisions to Finance leadership
  • Process Development: Develop and implement scalable procurement processes, systems, and policies that balance the need for speed and agility with strong governance and compliance
  • Internal Authority: Serve as the internal authority on vendor contracts, pricing benchmarks, and overall procurement strategy, providing guidance to cross-functional stakeholders
  • Data-Driven Insights: Utilize data from various systems (e.g., ERP, spend analytics) to identify trends, optimize strategies, report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify cost savings opportunities
YOUR BACKGROUND THAT LIKELY MAKES YOU A MATCH
  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or commercial negotiations
  • Demonstrated success in negotiating large, complex enterprise deals
  • Strong financial and analytical skills, with the ability to model deal scenarios and identify key cost drivers
  • Proven track record of driving procurement transformation or building new processes from the ground up
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with proven experience presenting to and influencing senior executives
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple high-priority projects, and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Based in San Francisco, CA, or Austin, TX
  • Experience in a high-growth technology company
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a proactive, problem-solving mindset

This role has a base annual salary of $150,000-$180,000 plus a competitive equity and benefits package. (Salary to be determined by relevant experience, location, knowledge, and skills of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
