The Role
Entegris is currently seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to join our Pads Manufacturing Engineering team in Aurora, IL. This position is an onsite leadership position supporting a 24/5 and weekend operation.
The Senior Engineering Manager will provide senior leadership over the Manufacturing Engineering organization for the Pads product line, setting strategic direction while partnering across Operations, Maintenance, Quality, Materials, and Customer Quality Engineering. This role carries an elevated scope of responsibility, encompassing strategic planning, organizational development, capital project leadership, and engineering roadmap development, with the expectation of serving as a backup to site leadership when needed.
The person will develop and achieve aggressive operational goals and objectives consistent with the business strategy, with a focus on EH&S, productivity, quality, capital project management, and new product introductions (NPI). The leader will be critical in managing Customer requirements, inquiries, and audits, working collaboratively with the Customer Quality Engineering team. The role has direct management of the Manufacturing Engineering team.
What You’ll Do
Develop and drive the Manufacturing Engineering roadmap and multi-year strategic plan for the Pads product line, aligning technology, capacity, and capital investments with business growth objectives.
Provide direct leadership over the Manufacturing Engineering team while guiding leadership activities across Operations, Maintenance, Quality, Materials, and Customer Quality Engineering.
Develop the culture and be accountable for the expectations of the Manufacturing Engineering team to own defined manufacturing value streams and deliver annual, quantified improvements in OEE, throughput, quality performance, cost reduction, capacity and operational excellence including 5S+S.
Build organizational capability through structured talent development, coaching, and succession planning for the Manufacturing Engineering team and the broader site leadership bench; foster a Learning and Boundaryless culture that grows future leaders.
Own capital project planning and execution, including budget development, project prioritization, ROI justification, and cross-functional execution, to expand and modernize manufacturing capability.
Provide performance-based management for direct reports, including goal setting, coaching, training, and feedback; communicate and enforce EH&S, work instruction, and quality policies consistently and fairly.
Lead and oversee product and non-product root-cause investigations and customer communications, applying statistical analysis and engineering expertise to drive effective corrective and preventive actions; reduce variation in product and process parameters through enhanced control systems.
Support New Product Introduction (NPI) processes and the commercialization of new products; manage site quality through SPC/trend review, NCMR completion, raw material optimization, audit support, and complaint investigation.
Establish and maintain strong working relationships with EH&S, Customer Quality Engineering, Production, NPI, R&D, Sourcing, Planning, and external suppliers and customers to ensure on-time execution of business plans; represent Engineering in site leadership discussions.
Monitor operational and quality performance, drive continuous improvement of site key performance metrics (EH&S, productivity, quality, plant efficiency), and support development of the site operations budget and capacity/capital project forecasts.
Evaluate and champion the application of AI, machine learning, and advanced data analytics tools to improve process control, yield, and decision-making across the Manufacturing Engineering organization.
What We Seek
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Polymer, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field, required.
10+ years of engineering experience, including significant experience in manufacturing or the semiconductor/polymer processing industry.
5+ years of experience in a management or senior leadership role, with demonstrated success leading multi-phase projects and cross-functional teams.
Demonstrated experience with strategic planning, capital project leadership, and budget ownership.
Strong knowledge and background in statistics, SPC/SQC, process control, and 8D methodology, including Six Sigma (Green Belt minimum; Black Belt preferred).
Demonstrated skill developing key metrics, setting strategic direction, and leading teams to achieve stretch goals.
Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization, both internally and externally, with a focus on Customers and Suppliers.
Ability to maintain professionalism and flexibility under pressure and in ambiguous situations; ability to interact effectively in a multicultural environment; up to 5% travel and coverage of nonstandard work hours as needed.
Strong knowledge of MS Office; competent with data/statistical analysis software (JMP preferred); knowledge of SAP and LIMS preferred.

Knowledge of Chemical Mechanical Planarization (CMP) process.
Experience developing and executing a multi-year engineering or technology roadmap.

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and/or Six Sigma Black Belt.

Compensation: $140,000 - $170,000 per year range with actual pay dependent on candidate overall skills for the role
