We are seeking a Sr. Engineering Manager to manage a software development organization made up of multiple engineering teams. This role is essential for translating high-level strategies into actionable plans, ensuring alignment between teams, and driving the effective implementation of our engineering roadmap. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mix of technical knowledge, leadership, and project planning to ensure that our engineering efforts are well-coordinated, successful, and impactful.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Understand critical business and organizational strategies to craft a technical roadmap that aligns our systems and engineering teams to implement those strategies.
  • Work closely with Product, Product Design, and Delivery partners, to prepare projects. This includes identifying opportunities, risks, priorities, scope, and understanding cross-functional concerns.
  • Guide and participate in exploration, design, documentation, and communication around system architecture, APIs, messages, and interfaces to third-party systems.
  • Foster a healthy, collaborative, and generative culture in which individual creativity can thrive.
  • Grow and inspire our teams through a combination of coaching, mentoring, feedback, and career development.
  • Measure system and engineering team performance and work together to prioritize and implement improvements where they will have the greatest impact.
  • Provide guidance and support to ensure teams successfully deliver technical projects while maintaining accountability for outcomes.
  • Stay current with technology trends, encourage innovation, experiment with and learn new technologies, and participate in internal & external technology groups.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field, or equivalent work experience
  • 7+ years of professional development experience, and 3+ years of recent experience managing or leading an engineering team
  • Experience working in agile development environment
  • Deep understanding of software and development engineering principles and concepts
  • Deep technical skills in one or more of the following areas: JavaScript development, database technologies (e.g. MSSQL, Postgres, DynamoDB), AWS serverless, CI/CD, Salesforce

Physical and Mental Demands

This position will spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers. The position may also entail light lifting of supplies and materials occasionally, up to and including 20 pounds in addition to reaching, stooping, standing, and walking. This position requires the ability to talk, hear, compare, compute, compile, copy, analyze, coordinate, synthesize, negotiate and communicate. Work Environment

Standard office working environment that may be busy and noisy at times.

Salary RangeThe salary range for this position is: $135,000.00 - $234,000.00, plus individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and applicable employment laws.
