As a Senior Manager of Engineering at QAD, you will be responsible for leading multiple agile teams and Engineering Managers, driving execution excellence while shaping technical solutions for enterprise‑scale platforms. This role is ideal for a leader who thrives at the intersection of people, process, and technology.
The Mission: What You'll Be Building
You will lead teams delivering key capabilities across QAD’s intelligent, adaptive platform, including cloud‑native services, APIs, and AI‑enabled workflows supporting global manufacturing customers.
Your Impact/ What you will be doing:
Team & Manager Leadership: Lead and mentor Engineering Managers and senior ICs; build high‑performing, engaged teams.
Delivery & Execution: Own delivery commitments for your area, ensuring predictable outcomes, quality, and scalability.
Technical Oversight: Provide guidance on architecture, design, and implementation of microservices‑based systems.
Agile & Continuous Improvement: Drive strong Agile practices, retrospectives, and engineering metrics to improve velocity and reliability.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product Managers, Architects, and QA to translate requirements into execution.
Talent Development: Support career growth, performance management, and hiring for your teams.
What we are looking for
8–10+ years of software engineering experience with 2–4 years in people management roles.
Experience leading multiple teams in an Agile, SaaS environment.
Solid understanding of cloud‑native architectures, APIs, and distributed systems.
Strong communication skills with the ability to influence across functions.
Core Technical Foundations
Strong knowledge of modern software development practices, APIs, and cloud-native architectures.
Experience guiding design and implementation of distributed systems and microservices.
Understanding of Agile delivery, CI/CD pipelines, quality engineering, and operational excellence.
Ability to review designs, assess trade-offs, and ensure technical consistency across teams.
