GEICO is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Manager for our Technical Field Engineering team. This role is pivotal in overseeing a team of skilled technicians responsible for providing on-site technical support and maintenance across our regional offices. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, proven leadership skills, and the ability to manage and develop a geographically dispersed team.

This position is a Hybrid role based either out of Dallas, TX, Houston TX or Tucson, AZ and will require travel.
Job Responsibilities:
Team Leadership and Management:

Lead and manage a team of field engineers and technicians, ensuring effective coverage and support for all regional offices.

Oversee hiring, training, and performance evaluations, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

Develop and implement best practices, standards, and procedures to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the team.
Technical Support and Maintenance:

Ensure timely and efficient resolution of technical issues in regional offices, including hardware, software, network, and system problems.

Coordinate and manage on-site installations, maintenance, and upgrades of IT infrastructure and equipment.

Monitor and analyze the performance of technical support operations, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
Project Management:

Plan and oversee technical projects, including office relocations, infrastructure upgrades, and new technology rollouts.

Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to align technical support activities with overall business objectives.

Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required standards.
Budgeting and Resource Management:

Develop and manage the department’s budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and cost control.

Optimize the use of tools, technologies, and resources to enhance service delivery and team productivity.
Communication and Collaboration:

Act as a liaison between regional offices and the central IT department, ensuring clear communication and coordination.

Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on team performance, project status, and technical issues.
Continuous Improvement and Innovation:

Stay up to date with the latest technology trends and advancements in field engineering.

Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and the implementation of new technologies to enhance service delivery.
Basic Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field

At least 7 years of experience in technical field engineering or a related discipline, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.

At least 1 year experience in IT infrastructure, networking, and systems support.
Preferred Qualifications:

Proven experience in managing and developing teams, with a track record of successful project delivery.

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.

Project management certification (e.g., PMP) and IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) are a plus.
