Job Description

Vuori is seeking a Senior Manager, Compensation to lead the strategy, design, and execution of comprehensive compensation programs across our growing global retail organization. This role is a critical member of the Total Rewards team and will partner closely with People & Culture, Finance, Legal, and Vuori leadership to ensure compensation programs attract, retain, and motivate top talent while aligning with Vuori’s values and high-performance culture.

What you'll get to do: 

Compensation Strategy & Program Leadership

  • Partner to develop and evolve Vuori’s compensation philosophy and strategy to ensure alignment with business goals, internal equity, and market competitiveness across retail, distribution, and corporate functions.
  • Lead company-wide compensation programs including base pay structures, short- and long-term incentives, and recognition initiatives) to ensure internal equitability and market competitiveness. Regularly review and update salary ranges based on market trends and organizational needs.
  • Act as a partner to stakeholders to provide compensation guidance for hiring across the business.

Annual Planning & Process Management

  • Drive the planning & execution of our annual compensation review process including developing projections and recommendations, implementing & maintaining appropriate technology, conducting leader education sessions, and implementing changes resultant from the process.
  • Provide analysis and outputs on salary increases, bonus payouts, promotions, and equity adjustments based on data-driven insights. Job Architecture & Market Benchmarking
  • Design and maintain a scalable job architecture and job leveling framework across functions and geographies.
  • Oversee job evaluation processes and regularly conduct external market benchmarking to support salary structure updates and competitive analysis. 

Governance, Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with global, federal, and multi-state wage and hour regulations and compensation disclosure laws (e.g., pay transparency, pay equity).
  • Partner with Legal and HR teams to implement governance structures and risk mitigation strategies.

Analytics & Reporting

  • Develop and deliver reports, and insights for senior leaders, enabling data-driven decisions related to compensation strategy and spending.
  • Monitor compensation trends and proactively identify opportunities for optimization.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders, People & Culture Business Partners, and Talent Acquisition on compensation offers, retention strategies, and employee mobility.
  • Create and deliver compelling training and communications on compensation programs to ensure clarity and alignment at all levels of the organization.

Leadership

  • Hire and develop a strong & collaborative team of individual contributors that will support and enable our business as Compensation partners and practitioners.
  • Participate in Total Rewards team projects and committees as needed, perform audits, and deliver required notices and disclosures.

Qualifications

Who you are: 

  • Advanced knowledge of compensation principles, job evaluation, and salary & equity administration. In-depth knowledge of compensation trends, including new and progressive programs.
  • Able to set direction, think long-term, and translate strategy into operational success in a fast-paced retail setting.
  • Expert-level Excel and data interpretation skills; adept at using compensation data to influence and inform leadership.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex projects on time and within scope across multiple stakeholders and business units.
  • Highly skilled in written and verbal communication; can explain complex compensation concepts clearly and persuasively.
  • Ability to take a proactive and agile approach to work, including initiating communication cross-functionally and consideration of diverse perspectives in service of alignment.
  • Advanced understanding of compensation regulations, market trends, and program design, as well as legislation that may affect policies/practices.
  • Thrives in an environment of rapid change; balances agility with a high bar for quality and precision.
  • Confidentiality & Integrity: Handles sensitive data with the utmost professionalism and discretion.
  • Deep understanding of the challenges and nuances of retail compensation models, including variable pay and multi-location structures.

The salary range for this role is $160,000 per year - $200,000 per year. This role is bonus eligible.
