The Position

Business Development, India

The incumbent will be responsible for driving business development and market influence for Carrier HVAC by building strong relationships with key ecosystem stakeholders such as architects, HVAC consultants, PMC firms, turnkey operators, interior designers, developers, and key influencers across allied sectors.

The role will focus on creating early-stage project influence, ensuring brand specification in projects, expanding market coverage, generating qualified pipeline opportunities, and improving specification-to-order conversion through sustained engagement and technical-commercial coordination.

This role is ideal for a young, dynamic, market-facing professional who combines relationship-building capability, commercial acumen, technical orientation, and execution discipline.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Market Mapping & Coverage 
    • Top 50-100 consultants mapped per territory (includes - consultant firms / PMC/ HVAC consultants )
    • Top 50-100 architects / interior designer per territory
  • Engagement & Influence 
    • Min meeting 20+ influencer visits/meetings per month
    • High value engagement focused on design discussions / spec in meetings / project support meetings
  • Spec & Pipeline Creation
    • Spec-In Rate (%) ,Map projects where Carrier brands appear in BoQ/tender / approve make list
    • Influencer attributed pipeline ( created through consultant / architect touchpoint )
  • New Segment Penetration 
    • Identify & target segments missing form current regional portfolio
  • Local Activation Programs & Marketing Support
    • Carrier led branding interventions / Joint Demos / Local Meets / IIID connect
    • Mapping engagement & collaterals requirements for key influencers
  • CRM Mapping for qualified leads
  • Spec to Order Conversion (%) 

Ideal candidate profile:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred / Electrical
  • MBA / PGDM in sales / marketing / business management - Preferred

Experience & Competencies:

  • 5 years of relevant experience. HVAC projects experience desirable.
  • Exposure to working with consultants, architects, PMC, developers, contractors, or design ecosystem stakeholders
  • Experience in handling regional / territory-level market development preferred
  • Strong communication & presentation skills
  • A very hands on employee with willingness and ability to build relationships & influence. Has a consultative approach while providing best solutions to key stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders, assertive by conviction and collaborative by nature.
  • Resilient & persistent to ensure long term relationship building.  
  • Strong Digital & commercial acumen, analytical ability and use of data to provide key business insights.
  • High level of market curiosity & learning agility.
  • Strong ownership on execution with focus on result orientation.
  • Comfortable with field travel & frequent customer & internal interactions

Pay Range (For Japan & Singapore Work Pass)
