As a Sr. Lead Full Stack Software Engineer at Coupa, you will be the technical anchor for the user interface of one of our core business domains. You will split your time between hands-on high-level UI system design and coding, coordinating front-end strategies across a pod of developers, and ensuring seamless integration with underlying microservices and AI-driven capabilities.
What You’ll Do:
- Domain Ownership: Architect and lead the front-end development of one or more major platform areas of Coupa’s globally scaling SaaS products.
- Architectural Strategy: Define front-end standards, drive solution-wide code formatting standards, and lead complex initiatives such as micro-frontend architectures or platform-wide framework migrations.
- Collaboration & Delivery: Partner with Product, UX/UI Design (Clarity Design System team), and Enterprise Architecture teams to build end-to-end features that resolve complex financial spend issues with intuitive user experiences.
- Process Improvement: Continuously seek opportunities to optimize performance, simplify existing component hierarchies, and enhance automated testing and deployment pipelines.
- Customer Advocacy: Partner with customer support to quickly debug and resolve escalated, complex client-facing UI/performance issues.
What You Will Bring to Coupa:
- Experience: 12+ years of overall software engineering experience, with 1-2 years of complex module design experience.
- Core Technical Skills:
- Advanced mastery of the modern JavaScript ecosystem, specifically React 18+, TypeScript, and Next.js/SSR concepts.
- Proven experience designing and maintaining large-scale, reusable component libraries and enterprise design systems.
- Deep understanding of web security (XSS, CSRF, CSP), accessibility (WCAG) standards, and cross-browser compatibility.
- Experience with performance profiling, memory leak diagnosis, and front-end observability tracking at scale.
- Backend & AI: Advanced .NET Core proficiency with practical experience designing/integrating LLMs and modern AI ecosystems .
- Architecture: Proven success managing massive, multi-tenant web applications, background job queues, and asynchronous messaging platforms .
