This job function oversees and manages the activities of a data analytics team responsible for impacting client development and retention through collaboration with each of Inmar’s customer supporting teams including a strong partnership with Customer Excellence. The primary responsibilities of this role is to identify growth levers and opportunities for optimization, and developing and rapid prototyping new analytic approaches for selling, marketing and product enhancement.

This position requires a unique mix of industry experience, retail and market knowledge, technology, data processing sciences and in-store/eCommerce/on-line shopper behavior expertise as well as a broad understanding of retail taxonomies along with an in-depth understanding and experience of pricing, promotions, assortment, space and other performance optimization solutions. This broad and deep understanding allows for quick turnarounds on custom and time sensitive projects and projects that require short learning curves.

Primary Accountabilities:

Analytical (35%)

  • Develop analytical programs of advanced shopper and product performance algorithms.

  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of data analytics tools and programming languages such as SQL, R and Python as well as data analytics platforms especially cloud computing technologies such as Google Cloud Services and Big Query.

  • Responsible and accountable for maintaining efficiency in terms of analytic output vs costs, ensuring compute charges are in line with budgets and committing to process improvements where possible to increase profitability of the analytic output.

Strategic (25%)

  • Provide analytical clarity, opportunities, recommendations and solutions to the team and clients.

  • Assess the current business and competitive environment across the customer base to develop the right insights that support and evolve customer strategy and corporate solution initiatives to support expansion opportunities with existing retailers.

Influence (20%)

  • Ability to effectively impart knowledge, techniques and methodologies to others through training and demonstration, both to team members and colleagues in other analytical teams.

  • As solutions need to move from prototype and proof of concept to production, the role involves consultation with engineers and project managers from operations, including providing detailed documentation and process flows.

Leadership (20%)

  • Hire, train and accelerate the development of the team, enabling career growth led by embracing leadership principles and people calibration process.

  • Work in collaboration with cross functional leaders in Sales, Shopper and Retail Acquisition to provide visibility to analytic solutions and opportunities to maximize results for Inmar, Retail partners and Brands.

  • Demonstrate great communication skills, setting examples and expectations for the team.


 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's Degree required; a Master’s Degree in a related field is preferred

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience managing strategic accounts; or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to complete the major responsibilities/essential functions of the position

  • Food, Drug, Mass retail experience, including background in driving business solutions with Analytics that drive Shopper, Product Marketing and Merchandising solutions

  • Digital media, in-store media, e-Commerce software, analytics and business operations knowledge preferred.

  • Experience leveraging retailer, consumer packaged goods data, or syndicated data is highly preferred

  • Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities

  • Demonstrated expertise in translating data and analysis into insights and recommendations
