The Senior IT Section Leader provides leadership and direction to a Technical Team (Regional or Global) responsible for a functional area or technology, delivering superior customer service and execution of the department's objectives by execution of projects and support activities. The size and range of the group will vary but typically consists of 4- 10 associates at level E06 and below. This is a Technical Leader role with 70% of time spent on managerial activities and 30% as an IT Practitioner.

What You’ll Do:

  • Partners with IT, Business Leadership and other Key Stakeholders to drive project approval and prioritization processes. Analyzes and communicate the impact of all scope changes on estimates and resource plans. Assigns production support (Steady State Maintenance) tasks to Application Development Resources. Uses Management Reports for resource utilization to maximize utilization of IT Resources.

  • Manages IT Change Process - Tracks actual costs versus AOP (budget) on a monthly basis. Manages purchase requisitions, purchase orders and vendor invoices for IT Suppliers.

  • Perform managerial activities (IE: Hiring, Performance Management Processes, Associate Development, Department Staffing, Budgeting, Communicating and Enforcing Policies and Procedures). Determine specific resources and skills required for on-going activities and provide leadership to staff of all projects within area of responsibility. Provide Coaching and encourage Career Development (growth and success for direct reports).

  • Monitor project development and communicate project progression frequently to Upper Management, Staff and Customers. Maintains relationships with outsourced IT service provider

  • Provides subject matter expertise to the function supported by recommending tools and technologies based on the business needs.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelors degree in MIS, Computer Science, Engineering, Technology, Business Administration or in lieu of degree 12 years of IT experience.

  • 7 or more years of Technical experience in a variety of IT disciplines gaining a conceptual knowledge of Information Technologies and methodologies.
