Job Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in and manage the month-end close process for approximately 10 operating locations across the U.S. and Canada, supporting multiple business groups
  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and balance sheet activity; investigate and resolve unusual items
  • Ensure proper accounting and balance sheet classification for leases and other complex transactions
  • Execute and monitor internal controls and investigate variances to support Sarbanes‑Oxley (SOX) compliance
  • Provide audit support and serve as a key point of contact for internal and external auditors
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes through accurate accounting, analysis, and financial modeling
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic planning, pricing, and decision‑making
  • Prepare and present clear, data‑driven financial reports and analyses for management and operational stakeholders
  • Analyze manufacturing and inventory costs, including materials, labor, overhead, logistics, and procurement
  • Support inventory costing, variance analysis, and plant performance reporting across operating locations
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend efficiencies across accounting and finance activities
  • Support special projects and the implementation of new accounting standards as needed
  • Operate with a high degree of independence, setting priorities and making sound accounting and business decisions
  • Work non‑standard hours and travel periodically as business needs require

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or related discipline; CPA or MBA preferred
  • 3-6 years of experience with a public firm or private industrial company; manufacturing experience preferred
  • Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley internal accounting control procedures and processes
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with an ERP system; Oracle Fusion and Microsoft Dynamics Nav preferred
  • Inventory and manufacturing cost accounting knowledge preferred
  • Ability to clearly articulate financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Must possess the ability to work independently and be a self-starter
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and reasoning skills

Skills Required
