Job Purpose
Primary Job Responsibilities
- Provide data, analysis and insight to support decision making by senior management
- Primary contributor in the development of monthly and quarterly financial reviews, preparing reports and presentations for senior management.
- Perform a deep-dive analysis of budget, actuals, forecasts and develop insights for delivery to senior leadership.
- Create and maintain economic models for analysis purposes and preparation of business plans, reporting, research, and analysis for internal customers on a monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc basis.
- Take a key role in coordinating and managing the annual budgeting process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare and present special projects providing technical and financial support to facilitate the achievement of management objectives.
- Take on complex data analysis projects and prepare reports for senior leadership as needed.
- Identify and recommend opportunities for continuous process improvement
- Conduct ad hoc financial analysis and special reporting as requested by business management; develop insights and recommendations to address specific financial challenges
Required Experience, Skills, and Knowledge
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or Information Systems
- 3+ years of experience in financial analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, and data interpretation
Other requirements
- Competent in reviewing financial statements, identifying key business value drivers, and developing projected financial data.
- Understanding of how economic trends, political situations, policies, and regulations may affect business results
- Strong general business knowledge to produce relevant research.
- Excellent communication and people skills to effectively work with other departments
- Strong writing and presentation skills with the ability to distill and articulate complex concepts in an easily understood fashion
- Advanced data analysis skills to structure/create data sets and synthesize information using Microsoft Excel and other financial tools (SQL Server, Power BI reporting & Alteryx experience a plus)
- Initiative-taking self-starter ready to hit the ground running
- Able to process complex time-sensitive data and information from multiple sources, make decisions based on this data, and effectively communicate the related actions to a broad audience
- Ability to face situations that are unstructured and require original approaches
