The Role

Job Summary

POSITION SUMMARY
The position will have sole and shared responsibility for a variety of Finance/Accounting activities in a manufacturing plant. These activities include but not limited to are financial reporting & budgeting/forecasting, month-end closings, Capex and production & inventory reporting/analysis, cost reductions and Product costing. This is accomplished through collaboration and teamwork within the Finance group and the rest of Plant.

Responsibilities

PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES PERFORMED BY THE INCUMBENT.

  • Shared responsibility for monthly closings, preparing journal entries, various analysis, preparation/analysis of financial reporting and submission to BU.
  • Preparation of the annual budget and forecasts with other Finance team members.  Includes materials, added value, expenses, COP, Labor, FTE’s, BOM creation and Capex.   
  • Prepare monthly cost center (CC) reporting and distribute to responsible managers.  Review variances with managers to determine any corrections needed to future forecasts or actions to remain on target.
  • Participate in continuous improvement actives and tracking cost reduction savings,
  • Work with other PU and BU Finance members in identifying and implementing process improvements to current ways of doing things.
  • Preparation of standard costs for existing products in the facility and assist team on costing potential new products.
  • Capex activities.  Ensure those responsible complete paperwork, spending, close out timely.  Prepared monthly reconciliation and work with SSC to close projects timely.
  • Track and report site production to management and added value weekly or as necessary.
  • Review monthly site inventory position with Materials Group (reserve status, cycle count completion and compliance).  Quarterly complete a cycle count audit. 
  • Execute other tasks as needed.

REQUIREMENTS

  • BS degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum 5-7 years high qualification in a Finance, Accounting or Cost analysis role, within an industrial / manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment, handling multiple priorities to effective closure.
  • Decisive, self-motivated/capable of working on own initiative
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work successfully in a team environment.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with all organizational levels.
  • Must be proficient with Excel, use of SAP as well as knowledgeable in all other Microsoft Office applications.
