JOB SUMMARY: 

Responsible for providing financial information, tools and analysis to support the evaluation of business opportunities, effective financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting and decision support, as well as providing adequate internal control processes and drive process improvements.  

 

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Ownership of forecasting and budgeting process for a set of corporate functions. 

  • Complete variance analysis and conduct expense deep-dives to understand root causes. 

  • Conduct monthly reporting, forecasting, and annual business plan preparation. 

  • Analyze financial performance and present findings to manager and business partner. 

  • Identify improvement actions and partner with business team to drive them through execution. 

  • Identify, lead or participate in the implementation of process improvement initiatives. 

  • Provide insightful analysis, with an external perspective, which considers risks and options. 

  • Improve financial literacy of business partners through regular meetings and coaching 

  • Establish and support a robust control environment. 

 

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting, finance or related field. 

  • 2-5 years’ financial analyst experience. 

  • Prior general accounting, manufacturing finance, and/or audit/compliance experience. 

  • Prior profitability analysis (business, product, and customer), budgeting, financial analysis, profitability and expense analysis and control experience. 

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. 

  • Demonstrated successful ability to influence and build positive partnerships and work collaboratively with cross-functional business teams. 

  • Demonstrated successful ability to organize and prioritize work to ensure timely deadlines. 

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization. 

  • Bias toward action and an ability to function at a high level of effectiveness, flexibility, independence and initiative without daily interaction with management. 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: 

  • Prior ERP experience (Oracle, SAP). 

  • Financial analyst experience with a medium to large, highly complex company. 

  • Manufacturing or building materials industry experience.
