The Group is currently seeking a Senior Financial Analyst that will play a key role within the Studio Finance team at Walt Disney Animation Studios (WDAS). This is a critical role in collecting, summarizing and interpreting Studio financial data for the WDAS Leadership team. The Sr. Financial Analyst will work closely with the various teams across Disney Animation as well as the Studio Segment Finance and Controllership teams.
Primary Responsibilities:
Serve as the dedicated finance partner to WDAS Technology and Operations departments. Lead the Budget, Forecast, Close, and Long-Range Strategic planning cycles for these specialized areas
Own end-to-end Capital reporting process. Track project spend, analyze variances, and manage the approval pipeline for critical studio investments
Partner with Studio Controllership and assist in the quarterly close process
Critically evaluate and communicate financial information and recommendations in a digestible format to present to department leaders and finance executives
Identify and implement process improvement initiatives as well as document policies and procedures
Partner with the various WDAS Overhead departments to create fiscal year plans as well as provide strategic guidance
Build models to help consolidate and analyze Studio trends as well as provide input and help drive ad hoc projects for the Studio
Basic Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), corporate finance, or a related field. Experience partnering with Technology, Engineering, or Operations teams is highly preferred.
Bachelor’s degree required (emphasis in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field preferred). CPA and/or MBA is a plus.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify and resolve issues
Strong knowledge of Excel
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to summarize ideas and issues to Studio management
Strong attention to detail without losing sight of broader objectives
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines
Ability to drive and implement process improvements across key activities
Ability to work well in teams, both within the group and with other departments
Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
SAP and Cognos experience is a plus
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines
Ability to juggle multiple tasks and projects at the same time, while keeping supervisor properly informed
