As Senior Engineering Manager for the Houston JPort LM Service Shop, you will lead the engineering team responsible for all technical activities supporting the overhaul of aero-derivative gas turbines — including the LM2500, LM6000, and LMS100 product families. You will report to the Engineering Leader and play a key role in sharing best practices across the global Aero Alliance shop network to drive standardization and continuous improvement at scale.

Roles and Responsibilities
Lead and develop your team — hire, mentor, coach, and support the career growth of engineers along GE Vernova's Technical Career Path; manage workload allocation and the team's technical skill matrix.
Own technical work scope — define and review contractual work scopes for LM2500, LM6000, and LMS100 overhaul projects; review technical documents including kick-offs, Visual Inspection Reports, and Final Reports to ensure they meet customer expectations and Company Work Scope Policy.
Drive shop integration — participate in Shop Operative Rhythm (weekly induction reviews, engine reviews, and Monthly Operational Reviews (MOR)) to align team priorities with production needs; support the smooth introduction of new products into shop operations.
Serve as the technical interface — coordinate with Design Engineering (GE Aerospace), Channels Engineering (GE Vernova and Baker Hughes), Product Leadership, Productivity, and Industrialization functions; support Application Engineering on non-standard bids.
Champion continuous improvement — act as a technical reference point for Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and continuous improvement initiatives across safety, quality, and lean production processes.

Required
Advanced degree (Master's) in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering — or a High School Diploma/GED with significant hands-on experience in aero engine overhaul or engineering (see education note below)
Significant experience in aero engine overhaul and/or engineering
Prior experience in a team lead or engineering management role
Ability to synthesize and communicate complex technical information across all levels of the organization
Willingness to travel up to 20%
Preferred
Direct experience with one or more of the following platforms: LM2500, LM6000, LM9000, CF6-6, CF6-80, GE90-115B
Experience working directly with external customers in a technical or commercial capacity

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $131,700.00 and $219,300.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
